It's the Vikings, and it's not close. All that talent, and a 2-5 record to show for it.
What talent?
I had to vote for the Twins, just because they're the only team I really expected to do anything big this year. I never thought the Vikings would be any better than 8-8 again, and I expected the Wolves to regress--although missing the playoffs entirely was a surprise. But I thought the Twins would be at least as good as the 2004 team and had a chance to do what the White Sox did.
If the Twins had a league-average offense this season (4.76 rpg), they could have been expected to win 93 games, same as Cleveland won. Given that and a little luck, who knows. To see all that potential and hope drain away by early August because the offense turned into the worst in the league is an awful shame.
