Sierra on DL

Dennys Reyes is the call up.
Listening to the manager's show this morning.
ScruFi's thoughts:
Lew Ford is the one player going well right now. He's hitting third today. (Last seven days: .200/.231/.200/.431 in 25 at bats.)
Criticizing Shannon Stewart's lackadaisical play in the outfield is wrong because his wife had a C-Section. SBG's question: if he's so distracted, why not put someone else out there? I misheard this.
We couldn't get Koskie back because he left the team for $23 million. SBG: 3 years, $17 million, I think, and Toronto picked up a bunch of that for Milwaukee.
A lot of money for Thome, that's why we didn't get him. SBG: What about that "no-trade" clause?
Everything Detroit is hitting is falling in. SBG: Falling in the seats. Falling after hitting the wall. Falling in front of Shannon Stewart (oops, can't say that).
Radke just isn't hitting his spots. SBG: Serenity now!

Thanks for the recap, as bad as it sounds.
Did Lew Ford buy Gardy a new bowling ball or something this month? I just don't get ScrFi's sudden infatuation with our new #3 hitter.
As far as the support for Stewart, I'm not surprised. Put him in the DH spot if he's so daggone distracted.
Well, what is Gardy going to say in an interview? "Yeah, we have so many players sucking right now it doesn't matter what I do." At least he hasn't started calling out players to the press.
Yet.
I'm sure Cuddyer or Morneau will do something worthy of a public call-out by either ScruFi or his Sgt. "Team Leader" Hunter.
When you get beat by a combined score 33-1 in three games, it is kind of hard to hang it on the manager.
Whaddya got on Sunday's debacle? Maybe there should be a regular feature: A Look at the Twins' Most Recent Weekend Sweep on the Road versus a Central Division Opponent
Good gravy. Can we conclude, SBG, that these guys don't want to play for this manager, though??
Obviously can't only blame the manager for a 33-1 series defeat.
But at least the baffling lineup decisions continued. We got to see Sierra bat cleanup for possibly the last time of his career and then moved the "hot hitting" Lew Ford into the three spot since he's been swinging the bat so well.
Torii desperately needs a day off that would, coincidentally, allow Cuddyer some playing time in right.
I am realizing how spoiled I've been--I moved up here during the 2002 season.
I can't conclude that Moss because the one guy who should punch him in the face has hit better than anyone else.

Maybe some triple A guys want to play, this bunch doesn't seem to want to play.
Actually, no one called and asked about Shannon's lacakdaisicalness (is that a word?). Someone called and asked how the team could possibly allow Stewart to miss a week's worth of important games to be with his wife.
I was happy that Gardy jumped all over that idiot! Gardy just said, "That's family! That's important. His wife had a c-section and he needed to be there."
I'm not a huge X's and O's supporter of Gardy's. But, I appreciate how he responded to that question. Sure, I don't always agree with what he says in the media (i.e. the Ford stuff, and most of his Cuddyer talk.), but he is far from the reason they're playing this bad...
Let's blame Torii more! And the pitchers.
My bad. I thought I heard him say something about his play in the field. Right. He needed to be with his wife.
Why does his show even field questions about why the team didn't get Koskie or Thome? It's not Gardy's job to make trades and sign free agents, even if TR might give him input.
True enough. That Koskie and/or Thome aren't on the team are Terry Ryan's issues. But, you should listen to the show sometimes to hear what is actually asked. It's a joke.
