Let's hear what the positives are about this season so far. Like I said, put on the thinking caps.
1. Johan Santana remains one of the premier pitchers in the game.
2. Joe Nathan, when called upon, has been very good.
3. Jesse Crain is striking people out again.
Add yours. No snark. I'm serious. I think.

-Cuddyer has been good when in the lineup.
-Castillo has been as-advertised.
Um...
-We're really good for the other team's self esteem?
Damn!
OK, here goes, I have four: 1) Cuddy is hitting consistently (although not HRs) - he clearly learned his lesson that any slip of any length of time gets him benched by Gardy. 2) Liriano is as nasty as we thought and he is not buried is AAA, so we get to see him pitch. 3) Morneau is hitting for power and RBIs and his average is rising (OK, maybe that one is a bit of a stretch). 4) Castro hurt his pinky and had to sit for three games.
Crain appears to have righted the ship
Guerrier has pitched very well in long-relief
Liriano is in the rotation instead of wasting away in the bullpen
Reyes has done much better than I expected - small sample size though
Nathan has been dominant
Rincon has been his usual reliable self, except for one bad game
Castillo has been able to play through his injuries and has been terrific
Santana got it going earlier this year than he ever has before
Bartlett is making the weasel and Terry Ryan look petty and childish for leaving him at AAA while this season swirls down the toilet - currently hitting .328/.343/.492.
Cuddyer - .312 AVG, .393 OBP, .548 SLG. He's becoming a real presence at the plate and is hitting with some power.
Castillo - .341 AVG, .399 OBP, .444 SLG. He's exceeding my expectations as a hitter, but I'd like to see more of the gold glove caliber defense.
Liriano - No f***ing numbers required. He made Jim Thome shake his head in disgust after striking out on the sickest slider in the league; I mean, really, the man screwed himself into the ground trying to hit that thing.
Mark Redmond - .415 AVG, .442 OBP, .537 SLG in 41 AB. I'd be willing to carry Corky Miller as emergency catcher and baggage handler if it got Redmond into the batter's box more often.
Santana - 70 K's, 3.23 ERA, .278 OBA in 61.1 innings. Pure excellence is always welcome; Johan's the only starter to show it this year.
After that, everyone's pretty much performed at or below expectations.
Joe Mauer would like to know why his own fanbase has not even noticed his great performance. He's hit .310/.379/.413 so far this season as a catcher playing spectacular defense, throwing out more than 50% of would-be base thieves. Mauer rocks.
Michael Cuddyer's rocket arm at third base is also a rocket arm in right field.
Dennys Reyes is oddly much better this year then when he's pitched against the Twins.
Luis O. Rodriguez has been used as a late-inning pinch hitter and late-inning defensive replacement for the same starter.
Twins have blown saves for Todd Jones, Mariano Rivera, and Frankie Rodriguez.
Pixie Vests have only been worn once.
Not everyone on the team uses the reptile helmets.
I'm sure I've seen the vests at least twice, both times in Silva starts at home. If the Twins follow the custom of letting the SP choose the jersey for the day, I'd guess that Silva likes the vests--or did, until he might have blamed them for giving him bad juju.
Morneau and Hunter are on pace for 30+ HRs. (Snark: Cuddyer and Batista are next on the list, barely on pace for double digits.)
No significant injuries. (Snark: maybe an injury or two would help.)
The new/old catcher helmets look great.
Gameday magazine is better than ever.
Some say the stadium news is good, though I don't buy it.
ubelmann, I totally spaced out on Joe. He should be on my list, too.
