Cup of Coffee

Well, it was a good time last night and a bad time.
I met up with SBGer Geoff at Hubert's before the game and had dinner and visited. We had a good time and one of my old law school friends joined up. But, when it was time to go get a ticket, I learned to my dismay that the entire series was sold out. So, I did not get to go to the game. Bummer.
What's on your mind?

Is that th' traditional SBG hangout?
News flash from over th' St. Croix river: Sconnie lost milk title to CA; now may lose cheese.
I was at the Cardinals game last night, and I must say, it was frustrating to be able to see the Twins score and NOT know what was going on.
On the other hand, the Cardinals played very well and had some great offense from Pujols and Wilson.
Best line of the night was from my friend. Twice.
Preston Wilson was announced as the next batter. My friend goes "Why is he in this game?" Next pitch, long home run to left field. I say, "That's why!"
Second line wasn't as good, but just as timely. This drunk was sitting in front of us, trying to get the wave going. My friend said, "No, I don't want to do the wave, I want to watch Pujols hit." Seconds before he hit HIS homerun.
I heard that the Twins had bases loaded at the end of the game. It's a shame they couldn't do it. It would have been nice to be in first. It also ruined the chances of the Twins magically going 34 games over .500 to finish the year (98-64). Oh well.
I've already sort of resigned to the idea of playing the Yankees at this point. I think it's be best to beat the "best" team in baseball. Besides, everyone is calling for a Yankees win, and we all know that the Twins play better when everyone counts them out.
Good morning and Go Twins!
I just got back from the game.
I took my 3-year old daughter. We had to leave after the 8th to make sure we got home for nap time. Had the game been closer, I may have bent he rules a bit.
About 12 ChiSox fans sat behind us. It was like having Hawk as my own persoanl guest. They came in after the first, so I couldn't do a good "He Gone." And by the time of the next K, it wasn't worth it. All "Scotty" this and "Pauli" that. They said if the Twins can't win against this lineup, they don't deserve to make the playoffs. I wished I had been wittier and without children's ears next to me.
Cora's favorite Twin is Matt Guerrier. So it was good that she got to see him pitch.
We missed Cuddy's homerun, but he has hit a homerun in each of the 3 games she's attended. (I think.)
Also, my Mauer t-shirt has lost its mojo. 0-3 this year after being 3-1 before that. I need something new to wear.
Possible Cy Young Winner Todd Jones weighs in on the postseason.
Yeah, I'm dumber for having read that.
