• First of all, I want to thank all of you for the kind words about the site. I can assure you that no one enjoyed this site more than I did this summer. The cast of characters made this a truly enjoyable ride. Many times Lucy said in disgust, how come you are laughing at that stupid computer again? Of course, the reason why is that "one of the billions" had chimed in with another hilarious comment. As the season went along, more and more people got involved and amazingly enough to me, everyone who joined in seemed to contribute something to the conversation. From brianS, who gently ribs me from time to time about various and sundry topics, to ubelmann, with his analytical insights, to Banjo, who was the one guy who always took me to task whenever I started to criticize ScruFi or The Senator, I enjoyed every minute of it. To brink, New Br'tain Bo, Geoff, Rhubarb_Runner, Moss, bjhess, Whiffers, zooomx, Kevin G, miltonj, AMR, Beau, Algonad, E-6, HVS, JeffA, Nick N., SDfan, Scot, Will Young, Brock, freealonzo, frightwig, mini_tb, pete_palumbo, punmanbowler, twinsnation, Andrew, twayn, jlicty, and all the others that I have missed, thanks for joining in and making SBG a fun place to be when the Twins are playing. I look forward to next year. Hopefully you will all be back (and will have brought a friend along). Thanks to Seth Stohs, who is my sounding board and who writes a great web page that I read every single day. This is a fun thing for me. I hope you all enjoyed it half as much as I did. Rest assured that I will continue to write in the off season (and I'll live and mostly die with the T-Wolves). Come next spring I'll be hosting Game Logs for the 2007 World Champion Minnesota Twins!

• I wrote before the playoffs started that no matter what happens in the playoffs, the 2006 Twins will be a team that I'll remember forever. Now that the Bronx Bombers are out, consider for a second how much better it is to be a Twins fan. The Yankees fans will never have a season like the Twins fans had. They'll never get to watch a group of young guys come together and burst onto the scene and defy all odds. Cheering for David beats the hell out of cheering for Goliath. Every day and twice on Sunday, folks.

• I'll continue to write about the Twins as is warranted. I have 30 some players to go in the Top 40 VORP. I plan to try and do something to go through the key players on the 2006 season. Plus, when Terry Ryan signs Vince Coleman to a non-guaranteed contract to play left field in the off-season, I'll rant uncontrollably. Plus, I'll keep updating the baby SBG watch. Speaking of which, the doctor results from our last visit were incredibly good, considering Lucy's age. The baby is in fine shape. We are thrilled. We have the name picked out (boy or girl). I picked out the names myself and Lucy loves them. (I named the cats, too.) Funny story. A while back, before we were expecting, we were talking about names. I made a suggestion and Lucy had a baby book and she opened the book closed her eyes and pointed to a name -- the very name that I had suggested. What are the odds of that? We both love that name and have it identified as the name for a girl, should baby SBG turn out to be a girl. Today, I was able to come up with a middle name that fits quite well with the chosen name. The boy's name is set as well.

• I will post ALCS and NLCS as well as World Series game logs. I can't guarantee that I'll be there to contribute, but if you want to chat about the games, stop on by.

What'll you have?

Anyone think the flatness of the Twins could be attributable to the a) Sunday Celebration and b) Tuesday morning start? Kindof a hangover bowl for game 1, and then they felt the pressure to not screw it all up after they dropped that?

My Tiger? So far, tie between Verlander and Zoom-maya.
I was real impressed with Verlander in the Gameday, I can't wait to see him live. I'd probably fully count Verlander, but I kindof want "My Tiger" to be someone who has a chance to play every day.

It should be a lot of fun watching this team and not actively hoping for their demise so the Twins are the best.

Real silly idea I had: Whichever team wins the WS should be able to use (metallic) gold outlines of their logo on their home hats the next season. Think how nice that would have looked on the Sox this year, and the other Sox the season before that. It would look awful on the Mets, but that's their fault. (Wear blue hats!)

Thanks for having us, SBG. It's certainly nice to have a bunch of die-hard Twins fans to watch the game with.

Thanks for being the accomodating host, SBG. Here's hoping that TR presents you with a Hunter-for-ARod trade to get you even more fired up for the new season to start!

Once more the phone-order Homer Hankies will arrive after the Twins post-season is over.

I meant to ask; what's with all the fake bunts? Castillo faked a bunt every at bat, and others did too. Seemed like every single one was called a strike. I don't get it.

Another observation: when the A's have their 25th Anniversary of the 2006 (fill in the blanks) Championship team, how many players will show up disfigured due to mouth cancer?

How cool would it be to have Radke throw out the first pitch next year? Seems appropriate enough, considering all his opening day performances.

Yeah, this is so annoying. Especially when they tell really early, and the pitcher gets a free strike. Compared to the number of actual bunts laid down, the number of fake bunts is ridiculous. And in the playoffs, they would have been somewhat foolish to bunt at Chavez anyway. So what is the point, exactly? Moss thought Rivas was bad about that, but Castillo is ten times worse and has now rubbed off on Punto.

SBG, thank you for your site.

As a Twins fan dislocated in St. Louis, the only way I had to keep up with games was on Gameday. With your site, I was also able to talk about the games as they were going on. I think that made this year just that much better.

I will likely be going into hibernation as well. I live and die with the Twins when it comes to sports. I've lost my love for football, even though the Rams are 3-1.

Thanks to all the others who came on here as well. Here's to a great season and here's looking forward to a fantastic 2007.

Don't be afraid to stop by once in a while in the off-season for half-baked analysis on the season that was. :)

Thanks SBG for all your hard work and devotion - this has quickly become my favorite Twins site on the web. Thank God Algore invented the internet so I can come here every day to check out all the half-baked crap.

You mentioned the difference between being a Twins fan and a Yankee fan. The fact is, being a Twins fan is just a lot more fun.

Even though we're disappointed about the playoffs, most of us consider this to have been a pretty good year, and we had a lot of fun watching our team, especially after the seventh of June. We'll have good memories of the season.

For the Yankees, this year was a complete failure. They won the division, had the best record, but they didn't have any fun with it. The only way they think they ever had a good year is if they win the World Series, and even then, it isn't really fun, it's simply their just due.

I know they've won 26 championships and the Twins have won two, but give me fun any day.
