The long wait is almost over. That's right -- baseball on Monday, for real.

Sorry, The WGOM is no longer accepting Letters to the Editor on this article.
The coffee is late, but still not decaf.

Tip of the hat to Target--thanks to them I'll be there on Monday night. My wife and I have made it a tradition to head there early on Saturday morning for the free opening series tickets.
Hey SBG,
I just sent you an email about a "charting the competition"-style preview of the Orioles.
Any interest?
Check your e-mail, Big Mak.
thanks, i'm excited to see how it goes
I'm proud to see that The Nation is rising to the challenge
I got home this weekend to find a beautiful set of World Series DVDs. I think almost as valuable as these videos was a hand-written note from SBG.
Glad to hear you got them, kg2005! Enjoy.
I have to admit, the DVD covers are pretty neat as well, the outside covers with tidbits about each game enclosed on the DVD inside, and the inside covers with expanded boxscores.
I've notices a little (band pass?) filtering of the audio at times; the fan noise sounds like you're listening from just inside a tunnel, but the startup disclaimer does mention that there may be some minor audio or video issues due to the original masters. It certainly wasn't enough to distract or be annoyed with.
You're gonna love them, kg2005...
Have you watched game 7? The noise is unbelievable... and wow, what terrible umpiring.

collector's item! I want to see a jpg!!!!
I object. I didn't use my best crayon.
Looks like a decent outing for Ponson today. 3 ER, 4 R in 5 IP ain't great, but only one walk and 9 ground outs to 3 air outs. He's not going to be Santana, but if he can keep the ball on the ground and limit free passes, he can keep the Twins in games so that Mauer can hit bases-clearing doubles for the win.
10 hits, including 4 doubles in five innings. I didn't see it, but if those were booming doubles, then I'm not too impressed.
He doesn't need to be impressive to be useful.
saw highlights on ESPNNEWS, the one Pittsburgh double they showed was an absolute rocket down the line, But Mauer came through with a bases clearing double of his own, and his was much more impressive, in my unbiased opinion.
Apparently a two-run double was one which Cuddyer lost in the sun, too.
Top Jimmy with a fawning piece on Torii Hunter, talking about his presence in the lockerroom and how good he'll be this year. Hunter says:
The piece ends with a comparison of Hunter to Kirby Puckett.
Whatever. It'll be nice getting a wonderful last year from him.
We'll see if he still claims to feel so great after he's been running around the Metrodome for a couple months.
First at-bat of the regular season!!! Jose Reyes grounds out to Albert Pujols. 3-U.
Two at-bats into the regular season and Joe Morgan is already talking about statistics. Who had two at-bats in the pool?
