This magazine's cover story is titled "Safe At Home" and is found on pages 20-23: Dave Winfield, the fortysomething hero of the 1992 World Series, is back playing ball in his native Minnesota. Pretty much a fluff article, as to be expected in a card collectors' rag.
Additional articles about:
-
Expos rookie Wil Cordero
-
rookie outfielder and dad-to-be Tim Salmon
-
Mariners rookie Bret Boone
-
rookie Al Martin
-
"My First Game" (Will Clark, Jay Bell, Tony Gwynn, Greg Swindell, Dave Righetti, Delino Deshields)
-
Topps Remembers: Joe Morgan He gives a baseball lesson when he steps up to the mike for ESPN, just as he did as a second baseman.
Also included is this "Back Page Extra", an illustrated history of Kirby Puckett:

During the monster over-hyped card collecting years of the 1990s, you couldn't turn around in a newsstand/grocery store/bookstore without finding a half dozen collector magazines. Topps, of course, is the granddaddy of the card companies, although Beckett became the collectors' price guide of choice.

Rhu_Ru, what kind of card collection do you have?
All things Twins, from 1961 to present. My brothers and I probably started buying cards around 1970 or so. I've tried to get one of everything, but when the "insert mania" of the 1990's hit, what with all the special parallel sets and all, I began losing interest. Last few years, I go to the card shop mostly to visit, and pick up whatever new singles they have lying around.
I still have a load of non-Twins cards somewhere (some oddball stuff, but nothing real valuable anymore, I'm guessing), so if anyone is into any other teams, I'm sure I could wrangle an amicable trade.
D'ya think Winnie could play DH still?
I bet he'd outhit Tyner. And twice on sundays.
He could sure as hell out-throw Tyner.
I'm pretty confident that Tyner could not throw Winfield.
