The rivalry between Earnhardt and Gordon is mostly fan created. Yeah, Earnhardt Sr. would rib Jeff for being young and cocky, but I don't think he ever had a bad thing to say about Gordon or his driving abilities. His personality was just the opposite of Dale's, and he won a lot.
As far as personalities go, I think Dale Jr. is more like Jeff Gordon than his own dad.
Yeah, I agree. The article says that Gordon and Little E are friends. The issue has always been about the fans. And it's going to be tough for them to reconcile their love for E/hatred for G when those two guys are working together.
I personally can't much stand Little E. I think he talks too much and is way to high on himself considering that he hasn't won anything yet. I'm guessing his Dad would've kicked him in the ass a few times for his behavior if he was alive.
Of course, what I just wrote could've been written about Ralph and Dale Sr. 25 years ago.
