Your candidates:
Javier Vazquez
Tim Wakefield
Jose Contreras
Fausto Carmona
Joe Blanton
Jeremy Bonderman
Chien-Ming Wang
Nate Robertson
Dustin McGowan
Paul Byrd
and the incomparable Kyle Davies.
Just remember, sometimes it's not who you face, it's when you face them.

Ouch. Jose Contreras has been AWFUL this year and Nate Robertson has not been too good either. At least Bonderman, Wang, and Vazquez are legitimate and Wakefield is a knuckleballer. Its a tough field, but I'm going with McGowan for the facial hair.
There were more good pitchers on the list than I expected, actually. (But I'd bet good money that the combined ERA of the above pitchers is greater than 0.00.)
To the Twins' "credit", Fausto was a question mark when he shut out the Twins.
I understand why he wasn't included, but I really think Levale Speigner deserves consideration.
He was a tough omission, but the field is quickly growing and I had to make the cut somewhere.
He wuz robbed!
Twins' record in one-run games:
2-4.
That is, games in which one run is scored.
Garza has two of those 0-1 losses.
I'm sure it happened a lot in the old days, but I wonder how often, in recent times, a pitcher has lost two 1-0 games in six starts. It's happened, no doubt, but I suspect it's not very frequent.
Garza is now 1-3 with a 1.70 ERA. I think the offense should be forced to wash his car. On the Metrodome plaza. In broad daylight before a home game. Wearing nothing but thongs.
Why should we be punished?
Garza will never make the HOF losing all these 0-1 games.
I guarantee Davies gives up 7 earned runs in his next start. It'll probably be against Baltimore or Chicago something.
Fausto Carmona is having an outstanding season
He is. Bonderman and Wang are also really good. There are a lot of teams that haven't been shut out by any of those pitchers, though.
Bonderman has been awful over his last three starts, however.
Yes, like Contreras, who is embarrassing his "family and fans."
