Every Ranger who came to the plate against Johan struck out at least once. Absolutely outstanding pitching.

Nice work Andrew. That was one helluva performance by Johan.
Someone on Baseball Tonight said he had all 3 pitches working, but I think I only saw the slider a handful of times. Which means he struck out 17 using almost exclusively fastball-changeup.
What a great idea, Andrew. Thanks for posting this. A classic WGOM memory!
I was actually worried someone else had the same idea I had and I'd put all that work in and someone else would already have one up. Then I remembered ubelmann was out of town, so I felt a little better.
You're th' dude!
BTW, Dudism requires vodka/cream/Kahlua imbibery.
All I have left is a can of Bud. I'll make sure to have a caucasian when I'm in Des Moines this weekend.
heck of a lot of work, Andrew, and very well done. Another great entry to this category. And special thanks to Johan!
Just curious - did you happen to catch Nathan's first K?
(Thank you for not spelling your name Andruw - cause then we would hate you).

Don't thank me, thank my parents. God, Mom would have a cow if I didn't spell it the proper Irish way.
Mom would have a cow if I didn’t spell it the proper Irish way
then shouldn't it be something like Aiogndrough????
Actually, its Aindrú, but none of us speak Gaeilge.
Aside from Sosa's loooong foul ball in the 7th, Johan was virtually unhittable. It was a thing of beauty. Santana is becoming a lot like Scorsese for me; you expect him to be great all the time. And sometimes he's just good - better than the competition, just not his best. He's spoiled us.
Today Johan was Raging Bull. Here's hoping he not The Departed.
Fine work today and always, Andrew.
What was The Last Temptation of Gardenhire?
Jabbing his pen into Punto's neck like Joe Pesci did in Casino?
I was thinking more along the lines of leaving Santana in to pitch the ninth, but that will do nicely.
I've gone to one Twins game all season and probably won't go to another one. The only one I went to was today's game. It was totally awesome!
We were cheering when Santana came out in the eighth, because that inconsiderate Nelson Cruz had not struck out yet. He got himself in line, and we were appeased.
I've been to a lot of games this year. I'm pretty sure this is one of the best games. Except our offense. Thank goodness Santana was being Santana tonight, and Cuddyer hit that home run!
I'm with you. Outcome could've been quite different. Offense needs to step up (a lot).
Hey, as long as we can get historic performances from our starters every single game we will be fine.
I'm with the two of you. I've never seen a pitching performance that was so dominating and yet still felt like the game was eminently loseable.
Both MLB.com and ESPN mentioned Young striking out 4 times; is something awry, or are they both confused by the same White House source?
Nathan got him, I think.
Oh sure, that would explain it.
Pwned!
