We were cheering when Santana came out in the eighth, because that inconsiderate Nelson Cruz had not struck out yet. He got himself in line, and we were appeased.

I've been to a lot of games this year. I'm pretty sure this is one of the best games. Except our offense. Thank goodness Santana was being Santana tonight, and Cuddyer hit that home run!

Aside from Sosa's loooong foul ball in the 7th, Johan was virtually unhittable. It was a thing of beauty. Santana is becoming a lot like Scorsese for me; you expect him to be great all the time. And sometimes he's just good - better than the competition, just not his best. He's spoiled us. Today Johan was Raging Bull. Here's hoping he not The Departed. Fine work today and always, Andrew.

Someone on Baseball Tonight said he had all 3 pitches working, but I think I only saw the slider a handful of times. Which means he struck out 17 using almost exclusively fastball-changeup.
