This song has such a fantastically dirty groove. An older painter friend of mine turned me on to this stuff years ago. (Thanks, Jimmy.) As much as I love Tom Waits, he copped much of his schtick from Beefheart.
In addition to being one of music's great characters, the good Captain (Don Van Vliet) is also a well-respected visual artist.
