Cup of CoffeeWolves lose again by 22, Kevin Love down to 17 minutes. This is the worst possible situation for the Wolves. They are driving what is left of their fan base with a tremendous stretch of terrible basketball. Their best, or second-best, player has checked out and is getting buried on the bench. I doubt that Love is in their long term plans. How's that O.J. Mayo deal looking now? Citizens Online15 Users Online WGOM Sign InLog InRetired WGOM Jokes

Great Zamberletti/Viqueens story on Greet Machine (see the sidebar link). "No pancakes."
Maybe the Twins need to lose their pancakes too.
Anyone interested in writing about the Twins minor league system?
Couldn't we just trade for Seth?
Given my inability to finish my OTG series, I'm sure a bunch of us deadbeats could be packaged and shipped out for Seth, plus cash and other considerations. (And the obligatory PTBNL.)
That would be another interesting series...take a look at all the various PTBNL's and see if anyone panned out.
That's like trading for Steinbrenner or something. Hard to trade for another team's owner, although I don't consider us competing against any other Twins blog.
What I was thinking was for an off-season project, evaluating the 2007 season and perhaps the last several drafts. Baseball-reference has a new minor league page that is dynamite and could be the source of a lot of good articles.
Good point about Steinbrenner, although it would be a bold Mark Cuban-like coup. I wrote this primarily as a compliment to Seth who does such a great job with the Twins and the minor leauge stuff.
I'm done with my big project (time to reacquaint myself with my family... turns out I have kids!).
One vent right now:
Dear NFL and NFL.com,
Your league has at most sixteen games a weekend. How berting hard would it be to make sure that all 16 scores show on your main home page at the same time? MLB.com will sometimes have 18 games in a single day (doubleheaders and whatnot), yet they manage to show all scores on their main page at the same time, without having to scroll a stupid bar back and forth.
Sincerely,
AMR
PS. I wish I could quit you.
The last time Scott Baker faced the Royals, he had all the ingredients for a perfect game up until the ninth inning. The left-hander will try to dominate Kansas City once again when he takes the ball for the Twins at 7:10 CT tonight.
What's wrong with this mntwins.com caption? Hint: the pitcher in the picture is throwing a ball with his right hand.
I'm disappointed to have heard nothing from the futbol fans here about the Women's World Cup. The U.S. rallied for a 2-2 against North Korea in their first pool play game yesterday/last night.
Call me crazy, but I think it is pretty odd that the U.S.'s 4-team group just happens to have 3 of the world's top 5 rated squads in it (U.S. is 1; Sweden 3; N.K. 5 and the 4th team is African champion Nigeria). What's up with that???
the world hates America, thats whats up
I heard the Team USA coach talk about his pool a few weeks back, and said that the North Korean team would be a tough match because fo thier quickness
I guess he was right
maybe its been showing up for a long time, but when did these blogs entrys appear on the right hand side of the page?
If its something new, I like it
Not sure how to interpret. Where's the tech-specs, Stick?
I added that this last weekend. I wanted to put the recent articles and letters to the editor there, too, but that's gonna take some tinkering.
I thought I'd get the party started... guess who is at it again? Gleeman's head might melt over this one.
It seems strange to apply the concept of evolution to people without teeth, but Walz proves his own hypothesis. He's an exceptional skater and fitness freak who has survived since his NHL debut in 1989 even though he scores about as often as a sports blogger.
You mean the Cuthbert-Gleeman rumors are... baseless?
They're just friends.
It seems to me that a fair number of Twins bloggers had children in the past year or so.
But hey, when have the facts ever mattered to Souhan? That's the beauty of being a sports writer for the paper... along with free hot dogs, you don't have to actually say anything that's true AND you get paid for it.
And I'm sure that he, Reusse, and Sid have cut a path a mile wide through the eligible women in this town. Heh.
And just so it's clear, I didn't know NOTHING about that blunt in the ash tray or the gun in the back seat. Why do I have to have valid tags again?
On the bright side, mebbe Stern is too distracted by the whole Donaghy thing to summarily execute Shawne.
Larry Bird. Tough guy.
Naw. He's like Jerry West. Completely disgusted by players unwilling to put it on the line to win, but not really interested in beating people into compliance.
I fully expect Shawne Williams to get pink-slipped within hours, however. What a moron. Dude, you suck. Why are you screwing with your livelihood?
Yeah, those Celtic teams never smoked blunts. In their cars.
unless it was a limo.
And Johnny Cougar was with.
So, the question remains. Do you have to have balls to be a Longhorns fan in Oklahoma?
