Ingalls-Wilder: “Yeah. Reminds me of home. All of us sleeping in a one-room house… Ma, Pa, The snoring…” * Wipes tear *

Uecker: "Strong family ties are important. I signed with the Milwaukee Braves for $3,000. That bothered my dad at the time because he didn't have that kind of dough. But he eventually scraped it up."

Seth: “Laura, didn’t you ever want to break out of there?”

I-Wilder:” “Once you begin being naughty, it is easier to go and on and on, and sooner or later something dreadful happens.”

J. Love-Hewitt: “I've literally, in my entire life I've had two guys come up to me and ask me out. Other than that I have had to go and try to like spend time with them, or sort of start the conversation, basically like spell it out in a Sharpie, like, you know?”

Uecker: “Sharpie. Yeah. Gotcha.” (Whistles between teeth) “Y’know, If a guy hits .300 every year, what does he have to look forward to? I always tried to stay around .190, with three or four RBI. And I tried to get them all in September. That way I always had something to talk about during the winter."

L-Hewitt: “Bob, you are the only person who can sell you, so you do spend a lot of time in your job by yourself everyday.”

Uecker: (Clears throat) “Yeah. I remember one time I'm batting against the Dodgers in Milwaukee. They lead, 2 - 1, it's the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, two out and the pitcher has a full count on me. I look over to the Dodger dugout and they're all in street clothes."

(From the grill in the Calf-A kitchen: “Hiyo!!”)

I-Wilder: “It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.”

Uecker: "Yeah. Like the time I got pulled over at 4 a.m. I was fined $75 for being intoxicated and $400 for being with the Phillies."

Seth: “Jennifer, are you from Venus?”

L-Hewitt: “I'm a hopeless romantic. It's disgusting. It really is. I've seen 'While You Were Sleeping', like, twenty times, and I still believe in the whole Prince Charming thing.”

Uecker: “Speaking of Prince Charming, in 1962 I was named Minor League Player of the Year. It was my second season in the Bigs."

Seth: (uses forks on plate to make rim shot, avoids eggs) “Yowzah!”

Uecker: "People don't know this but I helped the Cardinals win the pennant. I came down with hepatitis. The trainer injected me with it."

I-Wilder: “Hello!!”

Uecker: "Career highlights? I had two. I got an intentional walk from Sandy Koufax and I got out of a rundown against the Mets."

L-Hewitt: “Vegas, baby!”

Uecker: "The biggest thrill a ballplayer can have is when your son takes after you. That happened when my Bobby was in his championship Little League game. He really showed me something. Struck out three times. Made an error that lost the game. Parents were throwing things at our car and swearing at us as we drove off. Gosh, I was proud."

My maternal grandfather and uncle were for many years THE doctors in Wayne. I have a lot of fond memories of that little town.

I remember some great games during the heydays of the Cobber/Dragon FB rivalry (now called "The Power Bowl"). One year ('82?) a HS classmate of mine on the Cobbers caught a pass that set up the game-tying FG (kicked by another HS classmate of mine) in a game that ended in a 3-3 tie. The traitors! And still the provost allowed the beanies to come off, even though no touchdown was scored. We were pretty peeved.

Ah, well, I won't hold it against you, Seth. Got to admit, F/M is a pretty neat college metro area, what with NDSU/MSUM/Cord, there's always something to do.

Beyond that, Chicken McNuggets are great. There was a time when the meat inside them was pretty horrible, and looked dark and dirty. However, a couple years ago they switched to all white meat (or at least something that looks like white meat) and the overall product has improved by about 100 percent.

I went like 10 years without eating a McNugget because they were so awful when I was a kid, but then I tried the improved version and became addicted to them. Unfortunately, I haven't had them since like January of 2006 (although this conversion is making me crave them).

It's almost as if these people in Warroad are unaware of the jewish high holy days....
