Nation, I'm putting you on notice. From what I can devine from the schedule, Johan Santana has two starts left this season--today, and Wednesday, Sept. 26th at Detroit. After the 26th, you won't get to see Santana work his magic in a meaningful game for another six (dismal) months. Yes, the outcome of the game is largely meaningless (unless you care whether or not the Twins can secure a top 15 draft choice or an above .500 finish to the season), but if you are a Johan Santana fan, you probably want to tune in anyway.
ERA Leaderboard:
3.07 - Captain Cheeseburger Fausto
3.12 - Dan "I Have Yet To Regress To My Mean" Haren
3.13 - John "I Dare You To Hit A Home Run" Lackey
3.14 - Johan "El Presidente" Santana
3.16 - Erik "My Oblique! My Obique!" Bedard
Strikeout Leaderboard:
221 - Erik "I'm Just Happy To Be Nominated" Bedard
220 - Johan "Reigning Champ" Santana
220 - Scott "Also Pitching Friday" Kazmir
205 - C.C. "Where's My Food Again?" Sabathia
193 - Javier "Chris Who?" Vazquez

It's too bad Santana's start couldn't have come during the Rangers series. That could have resulted in lots of K's for his totals.
Chicago ranks 4th in the AL for most strikeouts. Johan should still get his chances.
Anyone want to comment on the rumor that he's close to signing an extension?
For what it's worth, Charlie Walters reported yesterday that Santana is closing on a multi-million dollar home at Bear Path in Edina. Make of that what you will.
Shooter? Aw, that crushes me. My financial guy told me that rumor yesterday but didn't tell me where he heard it. Crap.
He doesn't like playing municipal courses?
Bueno pa' gozar
I guess I am trying to be as optimistic as possible...but when I hear the tidbit comes from Walters, it does hit me in the stomach a little bit.
I want to believe where there's smoke, there's fire...but you don't know.
I'm for it.
Nitpick: I think Carmona is the Indian with the 3.07 ERA, and Sabathia (who is Capt. Cheesy, right?) is at 3.19.
Right now I'd have Sabathia in the Cy Young race just above Santana, but they'll probably give it to Beckett. I don't think he deserves it, but I don't think it would be the travesty that was Colon winning the award either.
You're right, it's Fausto.
You mean the guy who makes you think/look like you're hitting with a hangover?
we should probably expect a lot of strikeouts for Kazmir tonight
in 96.1 career innings against the BoSox, Kazmir has 109 K's
and Kazmir has 6 K's through 3IP
