Convention Report Part II

The Inaugural SBG Convention was a smashing success. SBG already wrote his review, so I won't repeat everything he said. I'll simply add the pictures I took. All the pictures can be clicked on for larger views. They're after the jump.

SBG and John Sharkey from Gameday. The free programs were awesome. Thanks to TwinsGeek for providing them and John and Kyle for dropping them off and joining us.

Here's that 300 mm lens that SBG was talking about coming into play. It's like I could touch Light Rail from my seat.

  • I can safely say that none of you look anything like I thought you would look--except Gleeman and SBG but only because I've seen pictures of them before. Although, when I first started reading Gleeman, I pictured him as a skinny nerdy lookin' kid.

Also, I look nothing like any of you and I look much different than any of you expect me to look.

I had fun and look forward to another convention next year.

    Let's get this straight:

AG is the Michael Corleone version of the godfather. Twins Geek is the Don Corleone version.

(Of course, it was Twins Geek who tried to get out but got pulled back in, but that's another thing altogether.)

Nice pix Andrew. Bummed me out that I couldn't make it this year, but a health issue with my 82 year-old mom took precedence. (What a pansy.) I swear, next year, both parents are gonna hafta be hospitalized before I miss the convention again. (Just kidding.)

Incidentally, mom is home and fine, if not a little embarrassed for "causing such a fuss." In addition, while she'd always been a Punto fan, she's since changed her tune this season. "What is wrong with that boy?", she asked a group of her sons as we sat around her hospital bed. My little brother spoke first. "He's a stiff, Ma."

Well, it seems I missed a good time (and a bad game). Not only was I unable to attend the convention, but over the course of the weekend I strained my back splitting wood for my father, and impaled the end of my big toe on a very sharp #2 pencil. Also, this just in -- the Gophers and Vikings really suck. You know, in case you hadn't already heard.
