I don't normally have special contacts of any kind, but today an inside source sent me some pictures of a Lake Minnetonka property that recently went on the market. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to post these pictures here, but I will give out as much information as I can.
This house is alleged to belong to a former Minnesotan who recently began work for a Boston company. The property extends south of the marker to include the tennis court and swimming pool. It also extends (I believe) across most of the peninsula. Here are some specs:
- 12.9 acres on Lake Minnetonka
- 32,000 Square Foot House
- 10,000 Square Foot Guest House
- 9 Bedrooms
- 16 Bathrooms
- 12-Car Garage
- Indoor In Ground Swimming Pool
- Outdoor In Ground Swimming Pool overlooking the lake
- Asking Price: $53.5 million
I can tell you from the pictures I've seen that this puts Vinny Chase's House to shame. The landscaping is beautiful and the pool overlooking the lake is gorgeous.
My birthday is coming up in less than a month, so for those of you looking to get me something nice, this might be a good idea. In the meantime, I have put in a bid of $200 for it.

Total Net Tax: $121,590.02
Total Special Assessments: $10,195.29
Solid Waste Fee: $1,853.45
Total Tax: $133,638.76
If I'm buying some lakefront property, I'll be interested in a less utilized lake...
A conservative estimate on the monthly mortgage payment (if you could even finance such a place) would be $375k (excluding property taxes, etc.). That's more than Moss' house is worth by a healthy margin.
Moss had heard about this listing about ten days ago. Apparently it was written up in the Star & Sickle. Moss can't remember who the resident is, though.
My WAG is that you could finance such a place if you had some kind of ridiculous collateral. Of course, if you had that, you probably wouldn't need to finance it.

I think it's the old Pillbury mansion. Not enough plasma TV's for KG's dogs in the "features" section of the listing.
