What in the world will we do without a Vikings game this weekend? Answer? Pretty much what we've been doing the last four weeks.

Sorry, The WGOM is no longer accepting Letters to the Editor on this article.
Just another game at Target Center tonight.

This may be the best week the Vikings offense will have all year.
Not to mention a (likely) defensive shutout.
How many of you are still Gopher fans? My Hoosiers are playing host to the Gophers and are 2 touchdown favorites. Anybody up for a friendly wager? I'll give MN +16 (essentially IU must win by 2 TD and a FG).
You are all very shrewd gamblers. I cannot believe the Hoosiers are 5-1.
Betting on the Gophers would definitely not be shrewd.
Neil if you're out there, I hope you get good news this weekend.
Thanks! Same to Sheenie (and you by extension).
You could do worse than this for the in-laws Xmas gift exchange (supposed to be $30'ish). I just ordered the Food Finds Special. Top off with a couple Bings. Voila!
Thanks, NBB! I had been arguing for the inclusion of the Peanut Nut Roll to our wedding gift bag at the hotel. Now I can make the argument even stronger with the bulk principle. Sheenie used to bring me Nut Rolls to DC every time she visited from the SBG College of Law.
Just ordered a batch o' Bings for the Hartford office folk - nice to be off the hook for th' Holidays
ahh, The Salted Nut Roll, longtime favorite of Grampa S.
Love Salted Nut Rolls. Takes me back to golfing with my dad and brothers when I was a kid. Pop into the clubhouse at the turn for some sustenance on the back nine. To this day, when I eat one, I smell cut grass.
My dad always loved Salted Nut Rolls, too. It was a staple when we'd go to ballgames. Thanks for reminding me of that.
A great Salted Nut Roll substitute is to take a mix of salted Planters Peanuts and plain M&Ms in a large bowl. Makes for a great party mix.
Or you could just, you know, buy the M&Ms in the yellow bag.
These prolly taste more like a Salted Nut Roll. Especially with chunky PB.
No, Peanut M&Ms don't taste like Salted Nut Roll -- you need the salt. Not that I wouldn't turn down a bag, though.
Back in HS when working the concession stand, the common response to "M&Ms" was "male or female?" Of course, in typical HS humor, we also referred to it as the "conception stand".
I'm having an Andy Rooney moment. There are two things I've encountered today that really annoy me.
1) ESPN giving cutesy nicknames to different weeks of the college football season. For instance, this is "Gut-check Saturday". How stupid! If ESPN would spend half as much time actually giving decent analysis as it does thinking up cutesy things to do and say, it would be a lot better.
2) People who have their little kids leave their telephone answering machine messages. It isn't endearing, and half the time you don't even know if you've called the right place because you can't understand what the kids are saying. The whole point of having an answering machine is communication!
Oh, well. End of Andy Rooney moment. You may now resume regular programming.
By naming it "Gut-check Saturday", I'm sure ESPN's intentions were to encourage their older employees to schedule their colonoscopies. Very thoughtful of them.
Spoon on SNL tonite. Nihilists.
what's the point of that comment????
[the Nihilists, stunned, confer amongst themselves in German]
Donny: Are these the Nazis, Walter?
Walter: No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.
I love how often The Big Lewbowski comes up.
A questoin for all of you - do your wives, girlfriends, other friends who are girls "get" The Big Lebowski? Most (but my no means all) I know seem to not get "the point". Is it a guy thing or am I just being a little sexist?
"It's the male myth about feminists that we hate sex. It can be a natural, zesty enterprise."
seem to not get “the point”
That it's a rehash of The Pilgrim's Progress allegory??
I agree - I've only ever met one woman that liked that movie.
What woman wants a spinning white-Russianed Jeff Bridges flying through the air, between their legs, smiling and holding a bowling ball?
Very tragic news, another shooting rampage, six dead, from Northern Sconnie.
