Notes:
- Well, McPherson and Ensberg are third basemen, so it seems like the Twins should at least be kicking their tires. McPherson, in particular, is 25 will be 27 next season and has a career 97 OPS+. Even if his defense is poor (though UZR has him at +6 runs/150G career), long-term he could be insurance against Kubel's knees going completely bad. Of course, he comes with his own health problems--a bad back--which might not be a great match for the turf in the Metrodome. Ensberg has been rehashed about a zillion times over by now.
- Chad Durbin could be a mildly tempting NRI to see if Rick Anderson can help his control, just as a better-than DePaula option out of the bullpen to start the season. Someone with more need for pitching will probably sign him and put him in a bigger role, though.
- I kind of wonder if Mark Prior could become the next Chris Carpenter, but after Dusty's Magic Arm-Shredding Machine, he probably won't ever be too valuable in the future.
- I've got a whole post on Adam Everett coming up later.
- Mark Hendrickson is tall.
- Nook Logan's release makes it a more likely that Garrett Guzman will stick in Washington.
- Ryan Ketchner is a kind of intriguing name. Pretty good walk and strikeout numbers in Portland last year, but boy did he have a problem with the long ball. A move to the bullpen could be in order.
- Jason Lane has had decent pop (~.200 ISO) the last couple of seasons, but hasn't been able to hit for average at all. He might have been intriguing, but the Twins are currently full at the corner OF/DH spots.

A minor quibble, but Dallas McPherson will be 27 next season, not 25. In terms of development, I suppose that might make him slightly more of a finished product, or at least one that's more set in its ways.
I didn't see this when I commented over on the Cup. Looking forward to the Everett post.
Yeah, I definitely messed that up. I don't necessarily expect that he'll grow much, but league average hitters have value.
Adam Everett? Huh.
of course, he's approaching his age-31 season and played only 66 games last year. His last 5 season OPS+ marks: 80, 80, 70, 64, 56 (this season). So, he's a shortstop, how bad could that be? Well, this year his sOPS+ was 59. Last year, 68. In '05, it was 75. This guy definitely was a sow's ear at the plate. Yikes.
Mark Prior!
At least his injuries weren't made-up ones.
I wonder how d-bag, Dan Barriero is going to take the news his boy has been non-tendered. I expect a health dose of Mauer bashing when a listener rubs his nose in it this afternoon.
Looks like Josh Towers got non-tendered, too. Carlos Silva on the cheap?
