    • There's a great interview with Steve Earle on the World Cafe web site where he talks about his new Album, Washington Square Serande. One of the tidbits in the interview is Earle talking about living in Townes cabin in Tennessee -- I think that quote might have come up in the interview.

        Thanks for the tip, man. - link - I'm listening to it now. Steve Earle is one my favorite "redemption stories". One of Earle's finest songs is "Fort Worth Blues", a song written when Earle heard Townes had passed. There's a wonderful PBS special called A Tribute to Townes Van Zandt.: It features Emmylou, Earle, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith among others. A really moving tribute to the artist. Here's an 8-minute sampler:
