Mugshot Purgatory: Old Faces with New Caps

As I have commented, my professional education obligations prevent me from doing as much on the MPs as I did last year, but I'll be looking at this year's mugshots, so I might as well post them.
Here are the players that aren't with the team this year (and are with another team). First, starting pitchers Johan Santana, Carlos Silva, and Matt Garza.

(Santana '08, Silva '08, Garza '08)
So, the Twins have basically lost their 1-2-3 pitchers from last year? Awesome! Johan looks very Johan-ny in this pic, happy and relaxed, and just said "Happy Birthday!" to the photographer.
Starting position players Torii Hunter, Jason Bartlett, and Luis Castillo.

(Hunter '08, Bartlett '08, Castillo '08)
My feeling is that we'll miss Bart the most.
Backup catchers Chris Heintz and Matthew LeCroy.

(Heintz '08, LeCroy '08)
Oakland is still giving players New Era replica caps. LeCroy has always looked happier in his Twins photos.
Backup outfielder Lew Ford.
(Ford '08)
That's from the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League. They look like the Yankees with Gold highlights. (I re-sized and cropped the photo myself).
There, that wasn't so bad (for me). I guess I can do a dozen or so photos a morning, provided I wake myself up early enough.

LeCroy just does not look right in that green and gold cap.
To me, it mainly looks like the cap just doesn't fit him.
My thought, too. Looks like a cross between a cap and a beanie.
My Dad told me a story about his Yearbook Photo for the Army at whichever camp it was (Fort Bragg? Don't think that's right, I think that's where he was after he got back from 'Nam.) Everyone went straight from the barber's to the photo room, a hat was handed to you, and if it fit (was not too outrageously small or large), you smiled and they took the picture and then gave the hat back.
I assume that Athletics' camp is the same, only without the barber, especially for the NRIT's.
Fort Benning!
That's basically how photos are done in boot camp as well. There's a small selection of hat sizes and some mock dress blues. The photos take a minute or two per man, and then it's back to the fun and games.
My thought exactly. The A's should spring for one of them there adjustable caps.
Even Odd Job looks better as a Twin.

Man, I love this feature. This one is a little bittersweet, though. (Bartlett and Garza have TB?)
Nice pics! Good job on the Lew one especially.
I agree we might miss Bartlett the most, but I've got to disagree that Garza was our #3 starter from last year -- he was #3 in ERA but with far fewer innings (and with more unearned runs) than Baker, and Bonser had over twice as many innings too. If neither Santana nor Silva left, Garza would have opened this season at #4 or #5, I think. (Still, losing 3 projected starters in one offseason, including the definite top 2, is bad enough.)
And Garza looks stoned in that photo, probably couldn't stop cracking up while the photographer was trying to get a shot.

How else are they going to scrape together enough money to acquire the next Jack Cust?
Something about the Johan mugshot seems a bit off. It looks a bit like he's got gas or something. Or like it's a transisiton shot from Johan smiling to Johan crying. I'm not sure.
This morning, he looked really just ahppy and peaceful. This afternoon, smiling right as he get's the "Dear Beau..." or "Dear Andrew..." speech from his wife and it hasn't registered yet.
Johan: 2-time Cy Young and Mugshot Enigma.

Johan: I get paid $22 million a year. I play in New York. I look like this. I am one blessed hombre and you can't do anything about it.
I love the Lew picture.
I see Torii has his cap in the "lock" position. He'd fit right in with the Norwegian farmers up in the SBGville area, at least (and probably only) in the way that he wears his cap. Get him a seed company hat, a pair of coveralls, and a beatup Chevy pickup and Torii could be one of my homeys.
