Taking Doom and Gloom To A Whole New Level

Even I'm willing to concede that when the Twins score more runs than their opponent that they've won the game.

Perhaps Spencer Fordin was an art-major.

I'm not sure if I should be offended, better check my art degree to be sure.

Guess I'm not supposed to be offended, I'm just supposed to ask if you want fries with that.

That was a running joke back when I was in art school. That we were so right-brained, numbers were merely squiggly lines with no other meaning than their aesthetic value. Might've had something to do with all the turpentine we huffed.

Where did you get your art degree, Meat?

I got my BFA from UMD and my masters from SUNY-UB, lets go beef-a-lo, would you like fries with that? and you?

BFA from the U of M. Accepted for MFA program at University of Nebraska, but life (re: a girl) got in the way. I knew I didn't wanna teach, so I have no regrets. And the girl got away.

Still a working artist, primarily oils. How 'bout you?

(Albright-Knox is a pretty fine museum.)

Yeah the AK is a great museum, I was there the year they hired Louis Grachos as director, what a difference a new director can make- ah but that seems like a lifetime ago-

I'm still working- mostly in oils and intaglio (although I wouldn't consider myelf a printmaker) - do you have a website or any images up? (I'm a bit too lazy to draft one, although I ahve to finish one in the next 3 months - we'll see about that in 2.5 months) I'm fighting the battle with working 40 hrs a week and producing art, although I suppose that we are all fighting that battle on some level-

Obviously Fordin's editor trimmed the subtitle to fit the column width; no doubt it originally said, "...RBI single in Orioles loss". Not like that word was necessary or anything.

Either that or it was written by the official scorer at the Dome--another guy that seems to get it wrong even when it's obvious.

Heehee. I believe that Howard Sinker is one of those official scorekeepers.

RBI single in Orioles loss

That's still not correct because it would indicate that Mauer plays for the Orioles.

No, not really. Mauer stayed hot, and the Orioles lose. It might lead to that conclusion, but it doesn't imply he plays for the Orioles. Of course, a well-written headline would have stemmed any of this discussion, and allowed us to spend our time more wisely on March Madness talk, where we should be.
