So today, I still have the white space to the right of the main column, but no video. Go figure.
I have no idea what is causing that white space. I'm going to try to address that, but it may be a while as this weekend is a trip to ND.
When are you heading up? I am off work today, but will be working the crowd all day Saturday and Sunday. You should stop by and say hi. I believe I owe you a beer. I am running Summit Maibock on tap right now.... yummy.
I'm going up today. I'll see if I can stop by on the way back on Sunday. No promises with the little one, but I'll make an attempt.
Since you'll be a Nort Dakotan, once again, for a day--GO SIOUX!
Amen!
The Herd is The Word.
Keeping up with the (sort of) ex-Twins: Milwaukee places Randy Choate on the 15-day disabled list.
I'm meeting the Geek at Joe Senser's in Bloomington to watch hoops today. Geek'll be there as early as 11 AM if anyone feels like braving the elements.
I may end up there too. I was going to try to watch with the Drake Alumni group up in Plymouth but I don't think I'll end up making it that far in this weather.
Does anyone know where I can find the Drake game in Des Moines?
Hopefully, it would be harder to avoid the Drake game in Des Moines.
I haven't heard anything about anything regarding today.
I saw on DrakeNation that a lot of people go to Boston's to watch. I don't know where that is in relation to your work.
InPlay downtown.
I'm kidding, of course. Every bar in the city has the Drake game on. The Coop was opening at 9:30 to let people in for the game.
I'll pull for Drake. What the heck.
It sounds like we're braving it and heading to Plymouth. Have fun!
Woo hoo! I'm securely trenched in last place in the SBG pool. I knew all of my non-research would pay off.
Dude, AMR is kicking your ass.
Whoops, didn't see the complete standings. Ah well, I can't win everything.
Your way ahead of me. I wasn't even smart enough to figure out how to register.
so, how did you get here?
That took me about 6 months. Now, my computer just logs me on--no skill is required on my part at all.
Back from a conference in the Big Easy, what did I miss?
KG tanked last season.
Heh. Glen Taylor just might be the stupidest man alive.
I read that the league reprimanded Taylor - but did not fine him - for his comments about KG.
I sure wish I was $2.3 billion stupid.

Ah, yes. A groundbreaking paper. Here is the corresponding graphic:

Western Kentucky giving Drake a game, lead 34-32 with 3 minutes left in first half.
Oof. It's a nine point WK lead at the half.
Not looking good for Drake now--down 7 with just over 4 minutes left.
Wow, HUGE 3 right there to pull Drake within 1. Just over a minute left.
Tie game! Bulldogs won't quit.
Oh my God, are you "Glogging"? Seriously, keep it up - you're much better than CBS's site right now.
EVERYBODY (at the WGOM) loves THE DRAKE!
I will admit that I didn't even know where the hell it was until recently. Sounds like a made up school - oh, okay "Drake", whatever you say. Shows what I know.
Overtime. Not a great final possession by Drake, but the charge call that got them the ball was fairly suspect.
Is it five minutes in college for OT?
Another 3 for Drake after the two teams traded baskets to start the OT. I'm pretty impressed with Houston. And now they trade misses.
Yeah, 5 min. OT.
WKY 2, then Korver misses a 3, WKY misses a 2. Drake up by 1. Halfway through OT.
Neither team seems interested in slowing the tempo for overtime. Going back to Drake's comeback--their press was really effective in forcing WKY to make mistakes.
Lots of foul trouble on the floor right now it looks like.
Off-balance 3 from Young to give the Bulldogs a 4-point lead!
Foul underneath the basket gives WKY a couple of free throws. First attempt misses, second falls. Drake up by 3.
Drake misses a 3 from way, way downtown, and WKY ties it with a deep 3.
Korver misses a 3, WKY rebound, then Drake steal to regain possession. That was a big steal. Houston just got fouled.
Why take the deep three with a lead?
Friendly roll off the front rim gets the first shot to fall. Second shot misses, long rebound WKY, Korver fouls out at the other end. Drake up one, WKY to shoot 2.
Why take the deep three with a lead?
They got caught cycling the ball around a little deep in the clock, though it was maybe not a great shot selection.
WKY makes both free throws, takes the lead by 1. TO with ~20 seconds remaining.
Plus, regarding the deep 3, I would mention that Drake has had no hesitation about taking deep 3s in general as I've been watching.
We know Andrew's gonna have a hangover tomorrow, let's just hope it's not from crying in his beer.
Emmenecker drives to the hoop, referees swallow their whistles until an absolute wrestling match breaks out, Drake with 2 free throws. The first falls.
It's only 2 in Iowa right now--Andrew could have a hangover as soon as today.
Alright, tie game and...Drake gets a generous roll to take a one point lead. Dangerous clock situation, though...still 5.7 seconds left with WKY to inbound. TO WKY.
wow
Man, a three at the buzzer for WKY?
There will be no joy in Mudville tonight...Brazelton takes the inbound, drives cross-court, hands the ball off for a deep three, right at the buzzer, and it falls. Drake loses. A dark day for the Nation.
I don't really know that there was much that Drake could have done to stop that. It was a well-run play and WKY just made the shot. That's a heartbreaker for sure after fighting back from a 16-point deficit to force OT.
I had to go watch it in the break room - that was some ending.
I don't really know that there was much that Drake could have done to stop that.
Agreed - they were right in his face and he was way, way downtown.
Load Up Paul Allen call: NNNooooo!
1) What, am I the Nation's town drunk now?
2) Yeah, that is a kick in the nuts, but the guy absolutely nailed that shot with 3 guys on him. What can you do but tip your hat?
This season is so much more than I ever would have expected out of Drake. I'm really proud of the way the team played. I'm going to be at the airport when they get home if at all possible and let them know how appreciated they are.
If I was in your position, I'd be drinking tonight.
What, am I the nation's town drunk now?
Let's just put it this way: if the nation was Mayberry, you'd be Otis Campbell.
It's always tough to lose but to come back from down 16, force overtime, and force a 28 footer with a hand in the guys face...It's a good way to end it. I would have been pissed if they had lost by double digits and I had to hear everyone saying they were overrated.
I was rooting for Drake, but that was a fantastic basketball game
Brazelton takes the inbound
Dewan went back to school?
Wow...if any one has driven Hwy 23 through St. Cloud, they know that this is going to be a much bigger inconvenience than officials will say.
Funny how Pawlenty supports closing the bridge but fights any legislation to do anything about our crumbling infrastructure.
scary stuff man
I hate Georgetown's "white" uniforms.
I have them winning the whole thing, so they can win it whatever color they like
Bad pick, Beau. Roy Hibbert is the absolute definition of an NBA bust. Sooooooo soft...
Considering I have no idea who is on any team, then that explains my pick.
I hate Georgetown
's "white" uniforms.Fixed.
I thought you hated Duke.
Will's hate is a big tent.
I'm an equal opportunity hater.
My top 3 (in order, so if they played I would cheer for 2 over 1 or 3 over 2):
1. Duke
2. Georgetown
3. Maryland
4. Virginia Tech (Seth Greenberg, the coach, is a giant jackass)
Ruiz and Jones sent to Rochester, apparently Garrett made it through waivers, then?
Also sent down, Barrett, Kiesler, Watkins.
Yeah, Garrett Jones made it through waivers. Apparently when you have no defensive value and don't hit all that well, you're not in high demand.
UCONN lost to San Deigo
Haw haw
Schadenfreude even down in Niceville, Albert Lea.
I don't remember any "niceville" over there

NBBW says: 'Tigers Rule, Packers Drool!"
And the Cougars are, um, er, what? MILFS?
yeah, Im lost
Yeah, UConn really let down my random numbers that had so much faith in them. I watched most of that game, though, and I was not impressed by UConn at all.
Aschburner's new Twins' book sounds interesting...think he'd commit to a Q&A at the WGOM?
I love the new avatar, banjo. +50 points of bad cholesterol!
Thanks. Did you ever hear the This American Life segment on the remaking of the Colonel Here's the text from the show website:
The true story of how a multinational chicken company turned a white man into a black man. The man they did it to? An old time Kentucky Colonel who liked to dress up as a Southern plantation owner in string tie and goatee, who happened to be their own spokesman. Mark Schone reports
I also met someone recently who is related to the Colonel. The Colonel was the brother of their grandfather.
never hurts to ask
He wrote a piece on MinnPost not too long ago addressing the Mark Cuban-vs-the Blogosphere issue not too long ago
It's worth a try!
a huge hockey game is coming up in about 20 miuntes
The Wilds, with their 1 point take on the Vancouver Canucks, who trail by that 1 point. Calgary and Colorado are real close, and the 5th team in the division Edmonton is like 7 points out
crazy
Nice thing is Nashville's playing poorly and the chances of four teams leapfrogging us is almost nil. On the other hand, it would nice to win the division and not have to face one of the top two seeds.
The Gopher Hockey team is en fuego.
weird; this Co'C has the Rufus "Tell Me Somethin' Good" after it...
