Delmon Fail

Is it better to have swung and lost than never to have swung at all and taken your free base?

1 out of 5 ain't bad.

To quote Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: "You chose...poorly."

Speaking of Indiana Jones, The Royal Mile had a St. George's Day celebration last night that included replicas of Monty Python's Grail to be bought and used. Pretty much everyone who got one said "This isn't the cup of a carpenter."

I love it when a good quote gets its own legs.

I can't imagine why anyone would intentionally throw this guy a pitch in the strike zone.

You're right.

They should throw him nothing but sliders down and out of the zone.

His ineptitude when it comes to sliders out of the zone reminds of Torii Hunter.

See? The Twins were right. He is a good replacement for Hunter!

Torii hit mistake pitches a long long way. Delmon's barely even hitting those, and not as far.

Pitching low and away is basically what teams did to Morneau last season, and he adjusted eventually. Maybe they can go out for coffee and a danish, hash things out.

Delmon is a self-proclaimed slow starter, which he was last year as well, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt ... for now.

How is pitch 1 a "ball in the dirt"?? Did it bounce the last 5 yards?
