Reusse Calls Out Twins Fans

"And when you're 87,000 behind the 2007 pace and already have played host to the Red Sox and the Yankees on a weekend, it's clear many fans are more interested in pouting over the whereabouts of Johan Santana and Torii Hunter than watching Carlos Gomez and Justin Morneau travel the bases at their varied speeds." Zing!

  • It could be partly due to gas and ticket prices, too.

    Nah, the fans suck.

  • What a great business! If my customers don't buy my goods/services, it's their fault.

  • As I was looking over the small-ish crowd for a Sunday Yankee game the first thought in my mind was that the "premium" pricing was coming back to bite the Twins.

  • I also noticed that on the radio, whenever a Yankee player got a big hit, there was a lot of cheering. Their fans are everywhere.

    • The reaction to Yankee plays is always bigger, but it is usually a combination of Yankee fans cheering and Twins fans booing, particularly when the player in question was a certain Cap'n.

    • I think Yankee fans also tend to go for the high priced tickets, which puts them closer to the radio announcer booth. So their placement sort of skews perception for listeners.
