Seriously, I do have pictures. I'll try to get them up tonight after work if I can find an internet connection.

Reusse called him an idiot. He went on a jag about how he was too stupid to get into college and that's why he went pro in the first place. I don't think that's true, although KG might have been a prop 48 candidate. He then said that he probably never touched a book in his life. He also said that he didn't like Caucasian teammates -- and Top Jimmy chimed in, without a hint of irony -- yeah, he punched one of them (know any other black athletes in MPLS that punched a white teammate?). Basically, he called KG dumb, lazy and racist.

Top Jimmy said that KG was the stereotype of an overpaid athlete. WTF? I seem to remember KG busting his butt every game.

Then, Reusse went on and on about how KG can't score in the fourth quarter and he said that it was KG's fault that the Wolves didn't win a title in 2004. He said, oh yeah, Cassell got hurt. What he didn't say was that the team that beat them had Shaq, Kobe, Karl Malone and Gary Payton.

Top Jimmy said that the reason the Celtics won the title was that Pierce was better than Kobe. He said KG shot poorly in the series... (didn't mention that Kobe shot pretty badly, too).

They also said that KG loved to play the martyr at NBA All-Star games. I'm thinking he loves his current position a whole hell of a lot better. They complained that the national media sucks up to KG. That's ridiculous. I can point to 50 stories in the national media that are critical about KG.

Their big thing was that KG was pissed off that the team was losing. Basically, it was character assassination. Reusse also complained that people were sending him a bunch of emails because he said that he was rooting for the other team. It was pathetic and Mr. Reusse's lazy and stupid thing smacked of racism.

Nothing like that, I have just sufficiently altered my memory of the game to the point where Delmon actually did hit a homerun in his first AB. It just looked so good off the bat... it must have been a homerun.

It certainly was a good time. It was cool to see meet everybody and <strike>judge them based on appearance</strike> put faces to the names. Kudos to Stick for putting it together, and kudos to Banjo for the vittles! Kudos to Rhubarb for carrying on the game log! Kudos to Delmon for hitting a homerun! Kudos all around.

I have yet to digest all of what I heard from those guys -- but if even some of what they alleged is true, it certainly puts Garnett's tenure in Minnesota in a different light. I almost could not believe how frontal Ruesse was --in fact I think he did cross the line and quickly backed off a bit. In the end, I would equate some of the rip to how folks around here roll their eyes when they hear someone in the national media talk about the Twins doing the little things right. When you know the mythology is not true, it does grate on you.

Speaking of Gameday, When I went to a Cubs game last fall, I figured most teams must have a high-quality unofficial program, so I bought what ever was sold across the street. It completely sucked.

It was the August-September issue, and didn't have an updated stats insert. Instead it, had stats for like three players from each team that the Cubs would play in the 2 months of the season (as of July 31). No splits, and the stats were like, Avg, HR, and RBI. No Rosters (who is #32 on the Dodgers? I only bought a program, so I have no way of knowing).

And I don't believe it came with a pencil.

That is why I was happy to pay $2 for a Gameday last night even though I had bought one two games prior... There is more useful info and better writing in that four page insert than there was in the whole $3 P.O.S. that I bought outside Wrigley.

Sounds like a good time. Did you have a chance to read Souhan's trash of an article in this morning's TRIB? Did Reusse, Barreiro, Souhan really just hate KG so much because he took so long after games to give interviews?
