Game 80: Milwaukee at Minnesota

McClung vs. Blackburn
Blackburn looked pretty good at the convention, but I'm posting this a fair bit in advance so I can't be 100% sure he's going to make this start. His xFIP of 4.19 would look a little better in recent years gone by. This year, it makes him just a bit above average for a starting pitcher.

very nice
Braunie -- the quicker picker-upper.
I think those are banned now
wrong paper towel company anyway
Laddie go BOOM!
Boyo!

tasty!
Mauer is a pussy. Swing the bat!!!!
Laddie!
crax. I was desperate to use this.
bookmark that one...
Earl Weaver opportunity here. Make 'em pay for the walks, Dude.
Carp. He got the fastball up and inner half with the 3-1 count and couldn't get good wood on it, then took a defensive swing at the curve that would have been low for ball four. It's so easy to play this game from my couch.
Oy.
Whoops.
DOH
Oy, oy.
I was hoping that Land O Lakes would have more than 3 of this 'baseball facts' commercials.
Im sick of hearing about Uncle Charlie
What are you more sick of? Uncle Charlie, or "Bathroom caulk? Check!"
ugg.
Gimmie me Uncle Charlie
As you wish.
+3 sons.
Who is this guy at the plate?
bring 'em back, kids. I'm heading home.
That was an out. Harris had trouble getting the ball out of the glove and his throw was a little wide, but Morny kept his foot on and had a great stretch. Bad call.
Fielder is built like a beer keg sitting on two hams.
Sitting on two pumpkins. He's a vegetarian.
Batter dipped, deep fried veggies, right? I forgot.
I missed this deal about the beach balls. I guess there was a thing on the internet..or something
I did go to one game in May - a Wednesday student night - that seemed like it had literally hundreds of beach balls bouncing around the upper deck the whole game. It was the most I had ever seen. I hate beach balls.
Speed kills.
buntie buntie
Back to back bunt singles. Dick is wetting his pants.
I prefer my bunting in October.

But, I'll take it in June.
July 4 is good for bunting.
+ one box of fireworks

hey all!
just got back from the grocery with Mrs. Runner. Fare tonight: whole wheat All-American sandwich, pretzels, milk, and chocolate mousse
perfect meal for listening to bunt singles
Chinese take out: Lemon chicken, beef lomein, fried rice, cream cheese wontons.
leftover pizza (not sure what it is..seems to have everything on it), apple juice, oatmeal creme pie
Turkey spinach wrap with avocado, honey-dew melon, and a Shell's Zommerfest.
Two queries:
What's a whole wheat All-American sammie, R_R?
And where did you get the Chinese, Twayn?
Little place here in Champlin called Enjoy China. It's pretty good for your standard Chinese fare.
uh, it's a pre-made from the grocer: colby, ham, turkey, etc. Very good, actually, but could have been a little smaller
What? You don't have a fridge?
you found my weakness...
btw, you guys convinced us to pick up a few reusable bags while we were there. 5 for $5, what the heck.
Glad to have you on board, Rhu_Ru.

Mauer turn for a bunt
Deep fly in to center. Gomez advances. Canadian with an Earl Weaver chance.
I'll take that deep fly from Mauer anyday
Wednesdays game, I remember him smacking the ball hard but not a lot to show for it on the stat sheet
the warning track productive out - much more satisfying than the bunt variety
Justin keeps plugging away on those RBIs
Yeah, take 'em any way you can get 'em. This is starting to look like it will be a closely contested series. No more pushovers for awhile. That's okay, though, the boys need testing.
Let's just hope the staff can keep Harvey's, er, Ned's Wallbangers in the the yard.
Lot's o' Ks tonight; guess I'd best fire up the grafix since bS is incommunicato:
Duder.
Did Dick seriously talk about maple bats again tonight???
thast awesome
KKKKKKKKUUUUUUUUBBBBBBBBBBBBBBELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
KUUUUUUUUUUUUBEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Hey, Dude, I wanna hear you!
all the young dudes
carry the ludes
bugaloo dudes
carry the news
I hate advertising. Because all I want to do right now is go to Dairy Queen and have a Thin Mint (as in Girl Scout cookie) Blizzard.
man, did you have to REPEAT that to all of us? Now I want one.
Prompts a joke:
Why don't the Boy Scouts sell cookies?
Who's gonna buy a cookie with BS on it?
Harris on roids!
Don't ask, don't tell.
c@rp
STOP IT BLACKBURN
Dazzle had that called as a can of corn to Cuddy. Oops. Nice depth perception, pally.
I can't trust my ears, but sounded like Dazzle said Brian Buscher was up in the bullpen.
damn it
I guess Corey Hart is not a one-hit wonder.
"Never Surrender", dude. Don't like that one, either
more c@rp
new second baseman. injury to Laddie
Really hope that's not serious.
jammed finger. Casilla is day to day
we are still in this game. Only down 3 runs
Normally I'd laugh that off, but they do seem to keep hope alive these days.
Of course Punto comes in and he has to bat right away.
"bat"
Mauer Pauer
Bases loaded for His Dudeness.
awesome.
time for some more abidin', y'all
Your time to shine, Delmon. Do it!
"Twins trail the Brew Jays...the Blue Jays...the Brewers!"
what a smooth, professional segway to a commercial break
That was great! I was gonna try and transcribe it, but I didn't think I could do it justice.
There was a lot of sputtering in there that I couldn't quite capture.
It was implied.
