Is Mike Lamb Burned Out?

Jeff Pearlman catches up with Mike Lamb eight years after predicting a bright MLB future for him. Lamb sounds as though he's lacking a bit of urgency these days.
"I get paid a lot of money to play baseball, and it's a wonderful living. But I didn't hear [daughter] Kayla's first words. That kills me... and every day I question whether this lifestyle is best for my kids. You have to be a little selfish to do this line of work. That's how I feel, at least."

You beat me to it. I'll delete my post.
I saw this note about Mike Lamb at the PiPrees Lamb wont demand a trade
Let him spend more time with his kids. DFA the bum.
I don't think that Elijah Dukes will ever be quoted saying as much.
In the various pre-season articles about him and interviews since, Lamb seems like a decent guy. It doesn't seem like he's been dogging it out there or anything. I can't feel too bad for him given his profession but I can't bring myself to be too bitter about him collapsing this year.
don't DFA him -- he's got another year on the contract. send him baby pictures until he retires.
I'm not bitter about his collapse either. It was a reasonable gamble on B.S.'s part that just didn't work.
Adam Neverhit, on the other hand...and I still don't particularly like the Bartlett/Garza for Young/Harris/Pridie deal.
I've been watching the Astros a lot the last few years. My best buddy is a huge fan, so I've gone to Astros games with him and he comes with me when I drive up to Arlington when the Twins play the Rangers. Over the last few years, they've had a lot of guys that just never seemed to get a real shot. Mike Lamb was always behind Morgan Ensberg at 3rd and obviously was never going to get a chance to play 1st with Berkman there. Luke Scott was usually the 4th outfielder. He did actually get his shot to play every day but kept having Cuddyer-like injuries that kept him from doing well.
Watching these two guys I always thought they'd do well as everyday players. I was right about Luke Scott, who's having a great year in Baltimore with a 126 OPS+ (which is probably only about average for a corner outfielder). Lamb on the other hand has fallen off a cliff.
