I would've preferred that we just kept Mario Chalmers. But, since we didn't, I'm fine with Telfair in a back-up role--15-20 minutes a game. Plus, it wasn't like there were any other palatable options available. Tyrone Lue? No thanks.

Yeah, they had to sign Bassy, there were no other options. It will be interesting to see the contract details. They didn't give him a qualifying offer, which would have cost $3.5 million next year. I would imagine, then, that his salary for 2009 will be less than that, right?

I see that they also signed Craig Smith. How about Gomes? Rumor has it Boston is interested, but he's restricted and Boston can't give him a full mid-level (they used part of it to sign Eddie House), so they are probably out of the running.

So yer sayin,' "Less whining--more wining"? I'm in.

Jason Williams is a shadow of his his former Sacto self--and even then he was outta control. He had some flair, though.

The Chalmers thing was the one thing that made the least sense out of what was otherwise a very good draft day for the Wolves. I'm still not sold on Foye as a PG and we didn't even have a backup. As the season goes on, we might see a bit of Bassy at the 1 and Foye at the 2, but for now Bassy will just have to settle for the backup role.
