The Governator issued a draft executive order today that would "reduce pay for more than 200,000 state workers to the federal minimum wage of $6.55 per hour to preserve cash in the midst of a month-long budget standoff."
That might get the attention of a few state workers. And probably please the Orange Curtain Republicans to no end ![]()

Maybe I won't have to cancel my WGOM subscription as a cost-saving move after all.
State Controller John Chiang sez he would ignore Arnold's exec order and pay full salaries anyway.
ahh, the beauty of "multiple executives". The State Controller is an elective position and is constitutionally responsible for the state payroll system.
Just curious--does a "draft" executive order mean he's circulating it for comment, but hasn't signed it yet? If not, what does it mean?
correct. He has circulated the idea as a trial balloon, with the claim that he intends to sign it next week.
