Well, since I’d rather not stew about that…

Delmon Young was intentionally walked three times in the last two games. Going into Seattle, Delmon had three walks over the previous 35 games combined.
On the bright side, Delmon did hit .326 over those 35 games, so there's that. If only he could find his power stroke...

Was Delmon thinking:
A)Dammit! I was all psyched to win the game for us and now I have to walk to first.
B)Whew! I can't be the goat in this game. Good luck Red Dawg!
C)If one of these pitches is close enough, I'm swinging!
I always wish that 2002-ish Bonds would have every now and then swung at a 2-0 pitch. (I've definitely seen this tactic on 3-0 slowpitch softball pitches to get another pitch to hit.) Just for the other team's reaction if nothing else. And didn't Miguel Cabrera once get an RBI by hitting an intentional ball?
yeah! I remember that
I think it was an interleague game against the O's
I remember Rod Carew swung at IBB balls at least once, to try and force the pitcher's hand.
Did anybody else notice that Putz almost airmailed that first IBB pitch over the catcher's head? He had to reach pretty high and make a slight hop to snag it. A WP on an intentional walk to tie the game in the 9th inning would have been the ultimate in Playing The Twins Way™.
I did notice that. IIRC, Ray King was playing for or against the Cardinals some time ago and airmailed an intentional ball that allowed a runner from third to score.
