At the end of his interview with The Onion's Scott Tobias, the Wood-man weighs in on the post-Zeke era of his favorite NBA team.
A workmanlike team that wins games is not necessarily a team that is fun to watch. What I'd like the Knicks to develop into is a team that's fun and that's colorful and that you really like to watch every night, which is the way they were many years ago. It was fun to watch them, because they didn't just pile up wins in unappealing ways.
AVC: Like the [San Antonio] Spurs.
WA: Yeah. I'd really rather be entertained and have them come in second than be bored stiff and see them grind to a first-place finish.
Then again, Woody once said, "If you don't fail now and again, it's a sign you're playing it safe." Does James Dolan have his phone number?

With my NBA fandom up for grabs, I am more than willing to lend my support to the Knickerbockers if Woody Allen becomes the GM.
If he could somehow work Scarlett Johansson into the mix, I'd be willing to switch my allegiances.
In the print version of the interview, Allen is quoted as saying "...have them come in seventh..."
Maybe he was misquoted. Hard to believe something like that would happen at the newspaper of record.
