Link. If you've listened to Sid Hartmann in the past he's always moaned about how the U has such stringent academic standards that they can't get kids to come here and play football. That was laughable, of course, but Timmy B. has really got something to be proud of. Last in the Big Ten on the field last year, and last in the classroom this year. If he doesn't win some games (and he's refused to guarantee even two wins this year), it's going to get ugly over there.

Listened to Ol' Patrick this morning and he's expecting a trainwreck when the Brewster era finally comes to a close based on this and some rumors he hears about future recruits. I'm proud to see MarQueis Gray continue my high school's tradition of academic excellence among athletes.
The GW community went through something similar when it turned out that a couple of players from our Top 10 ranked basketball team had graduated from "dimploma mill" high schools. The Washington Post hammered the university hard and the academic standards have been tightened. Of course, Omar Williams then graduated with a degree in Sociology from a pretty esteemed school. Of course, the Post also failed to mention his graduation.
(Likewise, the Post failed to note that Georgetown had a player from the exact same school on their roster until last season and that the Maryland Twerps* have had similar questionable players on their rosters. Of course, those schools have much larger alumni bases than GW in the DC area, so the Post wisely chose to bully the little(r) guy.)
*How do you get a Maryland graduate off your porch? Pay him for the pizza
Anyway, I hope that the U has all their "i's" dotted and "t's" crossed because these people will have all their academic performance placed under a microscope. If they succeeed, fantastic. But it could get ugly if they don't.
because these people will have all their academic performance placed under a microscope.
Come now. It's not like they've had any academic infractions at the U.
