A fantastic songwriter in her own right, she proves a fine interpreter of other's material, as well. Covering the Boss in NYC, 1999.
happy birthday to me.

This is good but the WGOM needs the Boss covering the Boss.
ZiggySBG played guitar...?Bruce!
uh, Bruce!!
Hornsby is Dead to me.
That's just the way it is.
+some things that will never change
ah, but don't you believe it...
Not sure if Stick wrote this, but I think he approves of the message.
He's been better. I'm not a big fan of much of Bruce's newer stuff with the E Street Band.
Oh, I agree with you, though I thought Magic had several really good songs. I'm of the belief that Springsteen's best work was his first four records. And Nebraska.
I played this clip for the speech from the :56 mark onward. I found it both eloquent, and poignant. Thought SBG would, too. And then it would get deleted.
Wife's a big Patty fan, and I like her quite a bit, too. (Though the albums since 1,000 Kisses* have dragged a bit.)
*Which featured another Springsteen cover.
Having her cover Springsteen is like Roy Orbison covering Willie Nelson... sure it may sound good, but I don't see why that's necessary. (Note: I haven't watched the clip and may not get to it.)
Her cover of "Stolen Car" on 1000 Kisses is great--maybe better than Bruce's.
Wonderful singers singing wonderful songs is, um, wonderful--though I do see your point.
