Merci. Can't put my finger on it, but the melody reminded me of an 80's era dance-floor single. Thankfully, these guys buffed away much of the gloss that makes the music from that era virtually unlistenable. (And no big hair!)

True story. Those guys were looking scruffy, hanging around the lobby where we were having our wedding reception. The newly-minted Mrs. S, not knowing who they were, nearly had a tizzy fit.
Needless to say, none of their music has ever made it across our threshold.

Depeche Mode was a really lousy band, but I see your point about the new wave influence in this song. I chose this song because I like it, but the Kills are generally a lot better when they stick to the bluesy guitar rock.
