This Date in Twins History: April 13

1991 The Angels' Dave Winfield and Gary Gaetti, two players with ties to Minnesota, put on a show in front of family and friends, combining for nine hits in a 15-9 victory over the Twins at the Metrodome. Winfield, a St. Paul native and former University of Minnesota star who would sign with the Twins as a free agent before the 1993 season, went 5-for-6 with three home runs, a double, and six RBIs. Gaetti, who played for the Twins from 1981-1990 and was a key member of the 1987 world championship team, went 4-for-6 with a double and an RBI in just his second game at the Metrodome with the Angels after signing with California as a free agent in the offseason.
