Were there two songs in there?

Definitely strange. I kind of liked the vocalist -- sort of what you'd expect if Patti Smith had a daughter doing a 21st-century Vaudeville act. And the band was, eh, ok. But the mesh between the two was tenuous.

Not exactly commercially appealing, I'm guessing. Their A&R man said "I don't hear a single". The future was wide open

Nice guess, New Guy. I really liked their first two: Gallowsbird's Bark and Blueberry Boat. (They lost me with the concept record they did with Grandma Friedberger, though.)

Eleanor has a great voice, but I prefer her brother playing guitar, rather than keyboards. The studio version of this features some great wigged-out fret work.
