F-Her v. F-Bomb
I can't believe that Carlos Silva is worse than the tomato can that pitched for the M's last night. The Twins were teeing off like they were on the driving range. That might not be the case tonight. Felix is striking out more than a batter an inning and has a 4.5:1 strikeout to walk ratio.
Liriano has been better lately. Let's hope he's up to the task tonight.

Gardy's trying to channel a bit of last night, it looks like - same lineup.
Heh, just checked out LENIII's pregame. Carlos Silva placed on the DL with "shoulder inflamation".
To be fair, there have been rumblings earlier in the season that Silva was pitching through pain. (I remember the trainers coming out for one game he was pitching in Anaheim.) Still, I think the main problem is "acute suckitis."
acute suckitis
Is that related to a stress reaction?
Make that chronic suckitis.
I would have to agree with you, SoCal. He's been suffering from that for a few years now.
Countdown shows 14min 22sec to gametime ... bring it on!
Evening gents
Yo, meat.
Hey, sorry about the UPS business. I saw that you had to go pick that package up. If USPS will just drop it off at your door, I'll use that next time.
Oh, dude, no worries, I always have to pick up at UPS (function of the shady-ness of my hood), not a problem. I'm never going to use USPS as my uncle, a postal man, told me the other day that when (and he did specify that it was a when not an if situation) a postal worker breaks one of my bottles open and the beer soaks a ton of mail I will be fined at least 250$. So, needless to say, I'll be using ups from now on.
I'm currently enjoying your pale, good stuff indeed.
$250, huh? In that case, I'll definitely keep using UPS.
Glad you are enjoying the pale, I thought it went well. My saison has me fairly concerned though. I bottled it today, and the hydrometer was reading 1.038 or so. Needless to say, that might be on the sweet side. I'm hoping its somehow being made innacurate by the dry hopping, but I'm not too confident.
My Belgian IPA used the Wyeast saison, and man is that stuff slooooooooooooowwww to ferment, I'm trying something new by using a heating pad to warm the yeasties into action.
That's the same stuff I used. I should have been paying attention to its very low attenuation instead of running on the assumption that it would ferment normally. I think I even left it in there for two weeks. Oh well, that's how ya learn.

strange, I swear I only said that once.
Have you been drinking more than you thought?
One, Two, Three!
A six o'clock start? Say what?
Yee-haw!!!
Tolbert thumbs his nose at F-Her's K/BB ratio
Jeebus!
Hooray for first inning runs! And I haven't even poured my first maibock.
I'm beginning to love Mauer's slide-into-second-pop-up-and-clap-hands routine
Suddenly the Twins are getting some breaks!
They're called the Mariners. ;)
Yeah, My memory isn't so bad that I can't recall last year.
I don't remember what I had for breakfast.
My memory is bad enough that I forgot about that game. So yeah, thanks for reminding me. Really, thanks. Thanks. Thank you. Thaaaank Yooouuuuuu.
No Ibanez and that ain't Perkins on the mound.
Gameday seems to be stuck on "None out"
anyone else think we should put punto and gomez in for buscher and delmon now that we have an early lead?
Very un dudelike
Turns out that this mauer kid is good at baseball. Who knew?
Anyone without Prior knowledge
Everyone who saw him play since he was 3 years old.
(Well, everyone except a very homely ex-newspaper columnist.)
Also, random crazy people in certain sections where people can leave anonymous statements.
Oh, yeah. And those folks.
Told you my memory was shot.
If your memory is bad enough to forget about them, then I envy you, good sir, for you are truly fortunate.
Try some of this. ;)

"Painter"
I prefer "huffer"
Life's a Gas.

Good evening, folks. I get done with dinner, and the Twins are already up 2. Very nice.
Sweet baby Jesus.
Hahaha, Mauer's raking against Hernandez. That makes him 10 for 16 with 2 homers lifetime.
I'm also beginning to like Joe-hit-over-fence-and-run-past-second routine
My goodness, Joe Mauer.
Hey, I think I've seen this before.
Oh, Canada!
M&M!
Oh good lord, where is that edit button...
Twayn still has it from last night.
Good gracious...
Look in your rearview mirror, Canadian dude! Jeebus with the accumulating HRs...
but, nevermind!
Wow, just about back to back to back. Kubel can't get any luck.
he has been ever so close more than a few times this year...
The new M&M boys acting like the originals. I like it.
aw, that cr@p Sweeney guy again? :(
A guy tries to make a little dinner and the ball starts flying outta the park like it's new Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees got a new stadium?!?!? Why didn't anyone tell me?
Yanquis having problems filling their $850 seats, tho. Gotta throw in a free Hebrew National w/ some suds, boyos.
And some caviar.
You might lose the kosher/parve magic with the fish eggs, but create a dog to die for.
Call me Jim Gentile. ;)
Timely!
I don't like 4th inning Liriano as much as 1st2nd3rd inning Liriano.
Well, when Branyan gets a free base thanks to Mr. Blue it doesn't help
Alright, which one of these punks is Mr. Blue?

Stuck in the middle with you?
Twins might have to hit a few more home runs before this thing is through.
I'd be all for that
Gentlemen, I say hello, and hope you all are having a pleasant evening. I found a music shop with an 'indie music' section, so I am now the proud owner of a copy of Bug by Dinosaur Jr as of 30 minutes ago.
She's my post to lean on
And I just cut her down
I haven't got that far yet, still listening to the dulcet tones of DicknBert (and Rod).
Rod ducked in the
CCOTRN booth earlier and said howdy. In this brand new Twins-hitting-a-lot-of-home-runs world, it would be sort of nice to see Delmon go deep.
i'll give you a dollar for every base he gets over a single.
Is that aggregate until the end of the season? Because that would be an easy way to make ten bucks.
zing!
That made me literally laugh out loud. I had to explain myself to my wife.....she didn't get it.
Dude, that's some optimism there.
well played. i'm more optimistic though. that's gonna be worth a jackson at least...
Yeah I'm actually not that down on Delmon, I think he's eventually going to start finding some gaps at least. You really just put that joke on a tee for me, I couldn't pass it up.
Another "whiff tag, then make terrible throw". I like those when we're not the ones playing that game.
Cuddyer has added hypnotism to his bag of tricks?
"when I snap my fingers you will think you have a play at third base."
You know, if the Mariners weren't such a bad team it would be harder to beat them.
I read this sentence like seven times and then burst out laughing.
Nice RBI, Span. Through the first 1/6th of the season (Tuesday), the Twins were 38/81 getting a runner on third in with less than 2 outs.
That's excellent. MLB average is about 1/3.
Man Ichiro is fast
Dazzle is awful as a play-by-play guy. That is all.
Hope he doesn't quit his day job.
Mankato Harley Davidson shill?
Swinging pick at Cambria mine.
Well, there goes the shutout.
2-1 Capitals over Penguins after 2 periods. I was wary of that series being overhyped due to Crosby v. Ovechkin, but it has been real entertaining (and both those guys have played amazing hockey).
Ready! Aim! Mauer!
nice to have somebody who can throw out a baserunner again. way to go joe.
Thank you,Beltre.
Homer, double, three RBIs, throw out the tying run at third. Ho-hum. Just another day at the ballpark. Good thing Gardy didn't rest him today, huh?
And a walk in the park. All in a day's work, and the day's not over yet
I looked up Joe Mauer on Wikipedia and was surprised to see that his initials are actually OBP.
Bravo.
Ha! E-6 ftw!
I don't know much about art, but I know what I like.
Maestro.
+1 warm spot
They're not seriously considering letting Liriano go back out there, are they? Inconceivable!
You would maybe prefer Ayala?
Sean White issues a gnarly 540 frontside walk to Mauer
+1 flying tomato
+ 1/2 pipe
+ 3 totally clueless. My modus operandi
HOLY SHIT!
well put.
I lack constraint.
Cuddy CRUSHED that one.
Cuddy makes the ball disappear.
Next time Cuddyer should try to hit that harder, holy s**t.
I'm listening to the game and knew that one was gone at the crack of the bat.
I can't wait to watch it tomorrow. (stupid Gameday not having in game highlights anymore unless you pay for it.)
No need to pay! Here's the link to the video if you want to download and view it.
It was damn near majestic.
It was
damn nearmajestic. Fixed!Great googily moogily that was a beast of a home run!
That's the Cuddy I was hoping to see this year.
Tim Kurkjian just creamed his pants.
Alacazam! Presto chango! Abracadabra!
And Jeroboam (Cuddyer) smote the ball with the jaw bone of an ass.
That's two Barreiro references already this gamelog...
And lamentations and bitter weeping were heard from the Seattle dugout.
And then Ayala came in and morale improved.
And Ayala begat runs begat Guerrier begat...
hold that lead...
What is the record for HRs in back-to-back games for the Twins since Killebrew's time? Like, four? /shock and awe
So, is this sudden power surge by the Twins just because of Mariner pitching, or is it more than a mirage?
Tolbert's just that much better than Casilla
And Harris is that much better than Punto?
No contest at the plate. In the field, I'm afraid Nicky Mendoza gets the nod.
Ayala? This game is already a shootout.
That's why I questioned using Crain last night in a blowout. That's what Ayala and Dickey are for.
I'd hate to see Gardy get his Dickey out here
+ 1 twig and 2 berries.
There's a chill in the air tonight. He might need one.

Bert: Losing streaks build character. It tells your manager what kind of ball club you have.
Me: Yeah, a losing one!
Wow, Tolbert with the quick release
Tolbert's nice and quick on the turn. He's making me forget all about.... all about.... damn, what was that guy's name again?
Slido?
Cah...Cuh... Castillo! That's it!
Beltre is not a fan of Harris tonight.
Beltre with some consistent D
How long has DazzL been prattling on about 'Lexi's poor attitude? Cause, I really don't care.
that's a poor attitude, meat.
The collective Twins nation holds their breath to see what Joe does next...
I've got ten bucks on water into wine.
Would you accept "get on base" instead?
Well, it's not healing the sick or casting out demons, but it'll do.
Hahaha. Kubel moment incoming.
Apparently the Twins lineup isn't challenging enough for Stark. He's going to start everybody 3-0, then see what happens.
looks like "what happens" is ball four
I admire his verve.
apparently loading the bases and not scoring again was too much for Gardy.
NHL Playoffs update -
Ovechkin scores his second of the night to tie the game at 3 and send it to OT. I told you this series was entertaining.
I'm enjoying a Session lager. I believe I'll enjoy another one.
I'm going with a New Belgium Mighty Arrow. More like Mighty Tasty if you ask me!!! Har har har.
Nobody asked you. ;)
I almost got one of those when I was in Memphis, but opted for a dry hopped APA from Schlafly instead. I hope I don't need to kick myself or anything for that decision.
I don't know, I'm not really a beer expert or anything. I usually just drink what's cheapest and weirdest. But I have liked everything I have tried from New Belgium, and Mighty Arrow is no exception.
I've only really had Fat Tire and 1554, the former being solid and everywhere and the latter being fantastic.
Their seasonal brews are where they really shine, IMO - Mighty Arrow being a prime example.
You guys are killing me. I'm on chauffeur duty tonight and have to leave in 10 minutes. No drinking until I pick up my daughter and get her home. And I have 3 more St. Pauli Girls waiting for me.
No beer in the pit, but I quaffed two Surly Bitter Brewers over dimmer tonight. Actually, they were dinner. E-6: glad you like the Session!
Mmmmm, Surly.
A nice, crisp lager--just as you said. (For a moment I thought my hands had gotten bigger, but soon realized the bottles are only 11 OZ.)
Joe Nathan is officially allowed to pitch in this game now.
We might still see a BOSO in this inning.
No BOSO.

O over Y - 8 clicks in the 2nd tonite - 12-5 in the 9th. Jones/Markakis 3-5, not bad.
Wow, is Ichiro good at hitting the ball where no one can catch it
Wow, laddie might have a tough time getting his job back...
TWINS WIN!
You may not want to get images from that site anymore.
Performance art fireworks tonight?
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
*whew*
Fantastic save, Stick.
dang, i missed whatever that was.
A very jubilant E-6.
the last time the Twins hit 6 HR's in a series was July 6-8 in Chicago (That was that double header were Morneau hit about 17 HR's in one day) They hit 9 in 4 games.
July 6-8 2007in Chicago
i missed the first game, but made it to the second. morneau had 3, and missed the 4th by maybe... 20 feet or so? that was a great game. even better because i was with mouthy white sox fan friends...
Sorry I missed the excitement. I was unavoidably detained.
