This Date in Twins History: June 19

1969 Rookie Dick Woodson pitched a three-hitter in an 8-1 victory over the Angels.
1987 Tim Laudner, who came into the game as a defensive replacement, hit a walkoff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Twins a 7-6 victory over the White Sox.
1988 Bert Blyleven won his 250th career game as Minnesota beat Seattle 3-1. However, the big wuss couldn't finish the game as he went just seven innings despite throwing just 81 pitches. Apparently, he didn't want it enough. Also, Jeff Reardon posted his 20th save, giving him seven straight 20-save seasons.
1991 The Twins scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally for an 8-4 victory over the Orioles. Mike Pagliarulo's infield single scored the tying run and then two runs scored on a wild pitch, which included an error by the pitcher, to put the Twins ahead.
2001 Ellis Burks of the Cleveland Indians hit three home runs in a 10-9, 12-inning loss to Minnesota. Corey Koskie and Brian Buchanan both had four hits for the Twins with Buchanan getting a homer and two doubles. A.J. Pierzynski had a two-run double in the 12th before Twins reliever Bob Wells allowed Burks' final homer in the bottom of the inning. The Twins had led 6-0 but had to rally in the ninth to take a 7-6 lead only to watch LaTroy Hawkins send the game into extra innings by issuing a two-out, bases-loaded walk to Kenny Lofton.
2007 On the bus ride to Shea Stadium to take on the Mets in an Interleague contest, Twins color commentator Bert Blyleven said he would shave his head if Johan Santana would throw a shutout. The left-hander then tossed a four-hitter in a 9-0 victory over his future team. It was a unique effort by Santana, who only had one strikeout and needed just 92 pitches to complete the game.
