Also, I didn't get to watch the game live, but looking at the replay on Guillen's slide, I'm voting 100% dirty on that play. Punto was WAAAAY off the bag and I remember when Guillen was playing for Seattle he had at least a couple of dirty slides. Actually, on the second replay, no part of his body was within six feet of the base. Pathetic. I wish baseball would suspend assholes like that.
I remember the Twins radio guys dissecting the play a little bit in the next half inning, but I just figured they were mourning because Punto was hurt. After seeing the replay on the local news last night, that was a dirty slide
The Royals announcers explained it away with "So, good job by Guillen."
Yeah, that was pretty hack.
And who would he have replaced?
Kubel?
The Twins value Hinske at about replacement level. "We'll give you Ayala, whom you can get for nothing next week for him." I think that's about right. I think he replaces Buscher.
Hinskie might have replaced Gomez. Remember that when Span was out the Twins had Cuddyer playing center for a couple games. I wonder if that was an experiment to see if they could go without Gomez when Span came back.
