9 stars!
Awesome. Marc Bolan was ... interesting. And I loved the crowd shot at the end.
The crowd really is animated!
I bought this record on vinyl from the cut-out bin at the Mankato, Minnesota Shopko in 1978. I was a junior in high school. Best 2.99 I ever spent. It was my first punk rock record.
Wow E, you went from Aerosmith at the Met to The Jam within the same year?
The Jam is probably my favorite band from this era. I love how they wore the suits and ties when all the rest of the punks were into ripped dirty jeans and safety pins. That actually was actually more punk than the guys faking it with leather and studs
Oh and its too bad Peter Weller had to get all pretentious with his next (crappy) band: The Style Council.
I'd say they were more mods than punks. In full agreement that they had a great look and sound, though. The Style Council? Not so much...
PS--It's Paul Weller, free. PAUL. And I bought this in 1979, not '78. I was able to listen to Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy along side The Clash and The Jam as a high schooler, free. College was another story.
D'oh! Peter. Paul, who can keep their saint names straight?
Above you said you bought it in '78.
I was correcting myself, but only after yanking your chain. A classic case of passive aggression, really. Or a failed misdirection. I should go back on my meds.
BTW, talked to my friend Pony on the phone today. He's in Charlie Pickett heaven.
I can see the Peter Weller mistake
