It's been about 15 hours or so since the regular season ended in a most glorious fashion. Now, it's time to turn our attention to the post season tournament. In one of the NL Divisional Series, we get the last two teams to represent the National League in the World Series: Defending World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies against the once again upstart Colorado Rockies.
Cliff Lee toes the rubber for the Phillies and Ubaldo Jimenez goes for the Rockies. Count me among those who don't understand Lee's success over the past couple of seasons. I don't know much of any thing about Jimenez, but hey, he's starting game 1 of a playoff series.
I think this could be a very competitive series. I'm thinking Philly wins it, but the Rockies haven't been afraid anyone lately.
We will run game logs on every post season game. I ask that the regular game loggers take the Twins series. I'll plug in the others.

I'm pulling for the Rockies, but they've got a bad matchup with the Phillies, especially since their one lefthanded starter (Jorge de la Rosa) is out for the DS.
Chris Berman and Rick Sutcliffe are doing the ESPN radio on this series. I'm having trouble thinking of a worse possible combination.
Chris Berman + Joe Morgan?
Oooo. Good question. I think Sutcliffe is worse. When Joe talks about his playing days and the guys he played, he's talking about a lot better players. So, Sut gets the nod.
On the other hand, Morgan has been known to misremember (or possibly completely make up) stories from his past. This means you can't really believe a single word that he says. Not sure if Sutcliffe does this, but it's at least worth noting that Morgan does it a lot.
But he could make up something interesting.
Right. And if he's misremembering, he's misremembering about Johny Bench and Pete Rose, not Leon Durham and Jody Davis.
I'd say Sutfcliffe is worse in a landslide. That guy's broadcasts are a waste of oxygen.

Torii Hunter style. They weren't paying attention to him, so he just took off before the pitcher even threw the ball. Stole second without a throw. I'm not kidding.
Also, he got picked off of second immediately following the stolen base, but the ump messed up the call and called him safe.
That was a hell of a pickoff move, what makes it worse is that the ump was in position and still made a crappy call.
