The NL A-S slot is just BFD. brianS wrote: … from the Fangraphs … is a solid reliever and immediately becomes the best on the team. This game suddenly got more interesting. James Loney reaches on an error by Holliday. Casey Blake works a 9 pitch walk. Ronnie Belliard lofts a single to center. Tie game. Russell Martin walks on four pitches to load the bases. And, as I type this up, PH mark Loretta singles to center field. Dodgers win.
After Manny flied out for the second out, the Dodgers had a 4.9% chance to win. Then: 14.7%, 17.6, 61.4, 63.8, 66.1, 100.
Wow, the wheels fell off pretty quickly there. On the plus side, maybe the Cards have a better shot at resigning Holliday...
Turned this game on just in time to see the last and decisive at bat...
The epitome of bloop singles if you ask me.
Kids and I watched this one. We were all cheering for the Cards. (My kids pretty routinely cheer for any team called the Cardinals. Louisville, Ball State, Arizona, St. Louis, whatever. If a team were the Robins, they may be favored by my kids.) That went from "Cardinals are gonna win!" to "The Dodgers won." So fast.
Has Lohse done much bullpen work? He might be better than Franklin.
Who didn't see the whole Ryan Franklin as your closer deal not working the greatest. Needs to get back on the juice.
