A grand slam by Juan Sanchez (Milwaukee) in the bottom of the tenth gave Aragua an 11-7 victory over Caribes Saturday. Sanchez had entered the game in the ninth as a pinch runner for Justin Huber.
Ex-Twin Luis Maza (Dodgers) had four hits and ex-Twin Alex Romero (Arizona) had three to lead the Tigres. Huber was 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, Wilson Ramos was 1-for-3 with 2 walks, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs, and Dustin Martin was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.
No Twins pitchers worked in the game. The winner was Victor Moreno, who pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and struck out three. Jesus Delgado (Seattle) had three shutout innings of relief, giving up only one hit.
Caribes was led by Eliezer Alfonso, who had three hits including a double and a home run and drove in three runs. The losing pitcher was Carlos Vazquez.
Aragua hosts Margarita in a doubleheader this afternoon.
