Brad Emaus (Toronto) had four hits to lead Phoenix over Mesa 4-3 Saturday.
No team scored more than one run in an inning, but the Devil Dogs scored single runs in each of the second through fifth. There was no scoring at all after the sixth inning.
Starlin Castro (Cubs) and Luis Exposito (Boston) each had two hits for Mesa. The only Twin used on offense was Rene Tosoni, who was used as a pinch-runner in the ninth and did not score. In addition to Emaus' big day, Jemile Weeks (Oakland) and Corey Brown (Oakland) each had three hits for Phoenix.
Starter Steve Hirschfeld was the only Twin used on the mound; he gave up two runs on five hits in 2.1 innings, taking the loss. Starter Robert Ray (Toronto) got the win for Phoenix, with Drew Storen (Washington) getting the save.
Mesa has a day off Sunday. The Solar Sox host the Peoria Saguaros Monday afternoon.
