Where they stand: Last week, Mesa went 1-4 with a tie, which apparently doesn't count in the standings. For the Year, Mesa is 5-11, in third place in the AFL East, 5.5 games behind Phoenix.
Who's hot: Steve Singleton went 5-for-14 (.357) with a double last week. For the season, he is hitting .282/.293/.436. Chris Parmelee went 5-for-16 (.313) with two doubles and a home run. For the year, he is at .268/.360/.634.
Who's lukewarm: Rene Tosoni was 4-for-16 (.250) last week. He is hitting .268/.367/.439. Spencer Steedley gave up a run in two innings. For the year, however, he has an ERA of 6.00, a WHIP of 2.83, and ten walks in six innings. Alex Burnett pitched a scoreless inning, but for the year has an ERA of 5.79 and a WHIP of 1.93.
Who's cold: Mike McCardell gave up five runs in 3.2 innings last week. For the season, he has a 7.27 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP. Steve Hirschfeld gave up five run in 3.1 innings. That actually lowered his ERA a bit: he is at 16.20 with a 2.70 WHIP.
The Solar Sox have played just under half their schedule. They will host the Peoria Saguaros this afternoon.
