Steve Singleton went 3-for-5 with a double and scored twice as Mesa defeated the Peoria Javelinas 8-5 Wednesday.
Chris Parmelee went 2-for-5, including a triple, and drove in a run. David Cooper (Toronto) and Ryan Kalish (Boston) each had two hits. Matt Dominguez (Florida) and Michael Brenly (Cubs) each hit a two-run homer. Casper Wells (Detroit) homered for Peoria.
No Twins pitchers appeared in the game. The win went to Randor Bierd (Boston) despite the fact that he gave up five runs in three innings. Chris Province (Boston) got the save. Travis Schlichting (Dodgers) took the loss.
Mesa hosts the Peoria Javelinas this afternoon.
