Right you are.

I visited the store just once, shortly after moving to Minnesota. Seemed like a decent, albeit small, store, but I was really an Electric Fetus devotee. Still, I can appreciate the importance of a shop where Mpls bands wanted to hang out and also was a rare place where a kid could get the latest punk records way back when.

That is a fantastic line. It really has the right phonetics to sound really good. And it definitely evokes a strong mental image.

I always took to mean he (the narrator/Tweedy) drinks like a fish. If you listen to it backwards, that is reverse chronologically, not in a "Paul is dead" kinda way, It makes more sense. He starts as a "dixie cup drinker" then ends as an "aquarium drinker", he's drinking more and more as he sabotages his relationship. Lyrics, from the wonderful Sea Black with Ink.

Yeah, I don't have a lot of excuses for #10. The less said about my listening habits from 10 years ago, the better.

'My Girls' isn't actually even my favorite of the CD (that would be 'Summertime Clothes' or 'Bluish' depending on the day), but it's still a really fun song. Even the wife likes it, and that is certainly saying something.

A lot actually.
If you've heard "From Here We Go Sublime," and see what he's done to the Flamingo's "I Only Have Eyes for You," Imagine that applied to "Heartbeats." It's very easy to hear the original in it, as well as that it's done by the Field. It's got snippets of verse vocals, and several takes of the chorus rush over each other at the same time. Definitely the poppiest thing Axel Wilner's ever done, which is a very good thing.

I think this was the first thing he did as "The Field," and he gave out the single at some club in Norway. Obviously, I found the file on the internet.

I adore that album, and the band. They just put out a new record last week (first album since something like 1999-2000) that I need to get.

Mom loves Brad Paisley, so I've heard a lot of him during car rides. As far as country goes, he's pretty good. I'm more of a Cash/Nelson type myself, but I like a bit of Paisley now and then.

1. "Fawn," Tom Waits, Alice
2. "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Vol. II
3. "Famous Blue Raincoat," Leonard Cohen, The Essential Leonard Cohen
4. "I Ain't Superstitious (Alternate Mix)," Howlin' Wolf, The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions (Deluxe Edition)
5. "Going Down the Road Feelin' Bad (Live)," The Grateful Dead, Hundred Year Hall (Live)
6. "She Belongs to Me," Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits, Vol. II
7. "Truckin' (Live)," Phil Lesh, Phil Lesh at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ 7/01/06
8. "Babylon System," Bob Marley, Survival
9. "Spoken Softly (Live)," Jessica Williams, "Live at Yoshi's, Vol. II
10. "Love Thy Neighbor," John Coltrane, The Prestige Recordings

Such a strong finish, I don't need a bonus song.

I'm embarrassed to admit (ok, not that much) that I always thought the Marley song was
"Babylon Sisters".
[EDIT: OMG, brainfart. I mixed Marley and Steely Dan. RE-SET!!!111ONE111!!!]
