mmm. delicious!
I have a special cup here just for Stick.
I'm drinking one of them peppermint stick cups right now. Time to go to the store.
Official. Twins pick up Cuddyer's option.
That's still a pretty weird option structure. I'm actually a little surprised that more veterans don't structure the team options that way, just so their family has more warning if they might be moving.
Not only that, but it gives the player a whole extra year of insured salary if the team picks up the option.
MarQuise Grey should start at QB for the Goofers
Diner breakfast may be the best meal known to mankind.
It was pretty excellent, and they had homemade biscuits.
Brinner?
I haven't had a 3 a.m. breakfast (hot beef sammich!) in a long, long time. Oh, wait. You meant an actual breakfast?
what's the place in downtown St. Paul, with the caramel rolls? I miss that.
Anyone go to the garage sale at the Dome today? I went down there with my kid but it looked like a long line to get in so we just walked around downtown instead. The size of the crowd really surprised me.
New Guy did. Similar result (unless he got in when he returned).
Nahhhh, I ended up not going back. I figured it was pretty well picked over by that point, and this article basically confirmed that. I knew I should have showed up before dawn!
I had the same experience. Sorry Andrew, no LEW stuff.
That's alright. I appreciate the effort.
One of my residents is 94 years old and told me today that she is done watching the Twins. Her exact quote:
"Now that Go-Go-Gomez is gone, what is the point?"
That's amazing.
Prescient.
Just have Frightwig and Milt tell her repeatedly that he was "One of the worst players on the roster!!!!!111one11!uno"
Well, he was, but I wouldn't get any pleasure in arguing the point with her. I actually kind of like that a 94 year-old lady's favorite Twin wasn't Mauer or even Punto, but was someone like Gomez--to such an passionate extent that she thinks she could be done with the team (after how many years?) if he's not on it.
Except he wasn't. Every one of those players was worse than him in 2009.
Oh, she knows Gomez wasn't very good. She also thought he was pretty dumb and would often criticize his poor English skills. But, "I love watching him run. He's so funny," she'd say.
I just want to point out I never said he was one of the worst players on the team. He's just not good or particularly special, and the trade was a great get.
Paging Dr. Kevorkian...
I got cast as a zombie hunter in a 20-minute film that shoots in a couple weekends. Art imitates life, again.
While the film is being prepared for the festival circuit, the plan is also for the director/writer to shoot a full version if someone who sees it is really into it. It's nice that this one fell into my lap out of nowhere, because everything else I'm working on in is the usual showbiz state: a holding pattern.
Just remember, shoot for the head. Also, they can't run fast, so use that to you're advantage.
My experiences in Left 4 Dead say otherwise. I just hope the zombie apocalypse unlocks unlimited ammo pistols.
What do you think they'd do if I brought a real gun and killed an extra, and played dumb? Would they buy it?
If the budget was low enough, maybe no one would notice...?
They might. Just make sure you don't gut and hang the extra to dry. That's a dead giveaway.
Also, that means you'll literally be living a lot of my dreams, as I often have dreams where I am a sweet zombie hunter.
I went to see the FM Derby Girls at the Fargo Civic last night. There was a huge sell-out crowd for the first ever roller derby bout in the state of North Dakota, as they ended up having to turn away 300+ people at the gate. Fargo-Moorhead beat the crap out of Winnipeg, 101 to 50-something, thanks in part to the awesome Shock Therapy dominating in several jams. (who happens to be my girlfriend. Is this like being a Yankees WAG is like?)
You are the Kate Hudson of the Derby Girls, kalarson?
Nothing wrong with being a WAG, or whatever the male equivalent is. HAB?. It definitely has its perks. I got a lot of free food at the post-game spread after matches in Ireland.
My cousin is on the MN Roller Girls -- Scarmen Hellectra.
Modern-day roller derby is awesome. I went to see the Rat City Rollergirls back in June and it was one of the sporting highlights of the year for me.
One of my friends in college wrote her sociology thesis on roller derby, and I went to a couple matches with her. That sport is nutso, but there are very few things in this world more entertaining.
Today is November 8th and I went golfing in 60 degree weather. I just want to mention how wonderful that is.
Dude, that'd be a chilly night here in Hell, I just got off a plane in Dallas to 75+.
76F in StL yesterday; not much lower here today.
I live in Buffalo, New York. Stereotypes suggest that there should be three feet of snow on the ground at this time. Give me a break!
Global warming is gonna bite you in the @ss, FTLT.
Here, on the other hand, just another beautiful day.
Oh, and the Girl scored her first goal of the season yesterday (a bend-it-like-Beckham ball from about 25 yards that went over the goalie's head into the net). Smiles all around as the girls are now on a winning streak.
Today was 68 degrees F, and I made beer. I made the rye amber again, so no English Strong ale this time around.
But, I do plan on making one next, and I'll make sure its both good and you get some sent to you.
It's after ten and I still have the windows in my office open. Unbelievable.

Wait, you guys don't have a painting above your bed of yourselves as a mythological figure? Pffft.
Semantics, really. It's a drawing.

Friday night: went down to Winona. Finished up my projects down there on Saturday. Came home. Sunday: pulled 330 gallons of leaves (they were ground up with the leaf blower, so a packed 330 gallons) off the yard.
I'm tired.
No wonder there was no coffee around this weekend.
Rest up for the caucus on Wed. That's in ink--God willing.
