Big Star- Thirteen

Possibly the greatest "what if" band in rock and roll history.  Sure, there have been bands who suffered an untimely death to a contributing member but the story of Big Star is tragic in a much different way.

3 LTEs in response to Big Star- Thirteen

  • Not a lot of Big Star on youtube. Still a pretty killer tune though. I would offer up like $4 to find some old footage of them.

  • E-6

I never travel far, without a little Big Star

One of my best thirteen dollar investments...

    • And there ain't no one gonna turn me around...

I can thank the guys in R.E.M. and The Replacements for turning me onto Big Star. Third/Sister Lovers has meant the most to me, but that CD 2-fer there is a great power pop platter.

Also, one of the reasons I liked That '70s Show from the beginning was that it had "Thirteen" playing during a key scene in the pilot--and of course its theme song is a cover of "In the Street."
